The gaming horizon certainly looks to have some crowded skies in the near future. : )

That From Software teaser might not be for Bloodborne 2; that's just what people jumped to instant assumptions with. Some have mentioned maybe a new Shadow Tower, due to the tagline, or even a new Tenchu, as the backdrop was a bunch of scripture done in very old Japanese kanji.

Regardless, if this isn't Bloodborne 2, I'm sure there will be tons of anger over it, and it will all be due to people coming to instant assumptions without any real reason other than, "We want a sequel to this game, and this is the company that made that game, so therefore it HAS to be that! It can't possibly be anything else, because what else has that company ever made, outside of Souls games & Bloodborne?"

Anyway, definitely going to get Romancing SaGa 2 for the Switch tomorrow. Now if only we got those remakes of SaGa 2 & 3 for the DS, or at least had Final Fantasy Legend 1-3 on the Virtual Console...

Soul Calibur VI should be going full Mortal Kombat style reboot. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Making a game that allows the fans to forget V? Plus as it was Mortal Kombat had a slew of divisive entries before 9 came so they at the very least had an excuse for doing that.

Judging from some reactions he's not in fact everyone's favorite electric green mutant-man
especially if you're among the millions of people who had to put out with his cheap bullshit in Street Fighter 2.

It's interesting to dissect SCV after all these years, both by itself and in the larger community. The game was mostly fine gameplay-wise, but had nothing to do besides a laughably short story mode (75% of it having been left on the cutting room floor). That didn't help the newbies either as they didn't have a chance to shine plus the time skip wasn't utilized properly with only four characters aging and the other veterans having some BS excuse for why they didn't age.

As for the community, when the game first came out people were vehemently defensive about it, basically deriding anyone who criticized it. I remember posting on boards about how the gameplay was fine, but there was nothing to do besides a barebones story and grinding for Create a Soul flair. I got a lot of flack for saying that despite the fact that SCI-III had great single player content like Weapon Master in SCII or Chronicles of the Sword in SCIII. In the years since then SCV has few defenders, especially with how many people are going to bat for VI.

With VI, it's weird how they said in a recent Famitsu that the keyword is "reboot", but are actually kinda vague about what that means. It seems that for all intents and purposes they're going back to SCI's story and remaking it. There is a lot of interesting lore to use, like maybe seeing what Schwarzwind was up to in Siegfried's absence, or bringing in Setsuka's master to have his fated duel with Mitsurugi. The setting is great, they just need to write an actual script and structure things so the characters have some kind of narrative. Heck, Siegfried's story alone would be worth it.

As for guests, I say William from Nioh for PS4, Tusk or Hisako from Killer Instinct for XB1, and Link for Switch (and yes there is a rumor Nintendo will announce the Switch version themselves). All I ask for is some decent single player content again.

well, arcaan heart had some interesting design for the kickstarter characters and it looks like the kill la kill character made it.

Two things.

1. Romancing Saga 2 is also for the Xbox One

2. The Xbox version of Soul Calibur 6 can have a guest from KI, Hisako would be perfect. But i think they will probably choose a character from a multiplatform game like they did with Ezio. Geralt(witcher series) would be a good choice.
