That's literally kinda the point. Its an atmosphere series. You're supposed to appreciate the atmosphere and the backgrounds. Its like watching Aria or Yokohama Kikou Kaidashi.

Says the person who thought Fate/Apocrypha was the best anime of the summer. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, this is quite possibly one of the most calming shows in general, not just anime, to be set in the post-apocalypse. That’s interesting to note in my opinion and I’ll be looking forward to see what happens as the show goes on.

Not the best but one of the top (Fate/Apocrypha, Attack on titan 2, Hero academia 2, Youjo Senki are are all among the top action anime in 2017 in my opinion)

Yea, fate/Apocrypha have heavy action that keep you entertained all the time, and has likable characters and likable story. fate/Apocrypha had much more and better fights than Fate/stay night UBW (except for animation quality).

In the two episode of Girls' Last Tour not much happened so far. Slow and relaxing anime is not so entertaining for me. I'm struggling to understand how anyone thinks that this anime deserve A rating. Even Shoukoku no Altair ep 13 and 14 got B rating and 5 min of that anime has more content than whole two episode of Girls' Last Tour
And what is worse is that Kino's Journey - the Beautiful World- got also much lower rating in this website despite having 10x better writing and story than this mediocre show

Have you ever considered that maybe ratings are not given based on how much 'content' there is in a given episode.

That said I did think these two episodes were bad and dropped the show, but mostly because I actively disliked the characters and felt that they ruined whatever atmosphere the show was trying to build.

Still some misunderstanding about Girls's Last Tour-

Quote:
The premise is that there's been some sort of world-ending apocalypse war, and now our heroines wander the wasteland as the only combatants left in each other's company.- Gabriella Ekens

The girls never say that their are the last, and they do mention thinking only humans survived, hence the surprise about the fish.

And the "world-ending apocalypse war" happened to an ancient civilization. The girls are part of the survivors of the survivors and etc of that civilization.

This truly is a character study/slice of life, going in with thoughts of Made in Abyss or the like and you will be "bored".
Viewers/Readers will need to really listen to what the girls are saying to understand what is what.
The girls are dealing with a very depressing reality their way, other survivors cope in their own individual ways.

I really do look forward to this show each week in a way the other anime of the season can't quite do for me. This show is just so unique, and it almost feels like a conversation with a friend. It doesn't need lots of action or compelling world-building, because the two characters are so good at carrying the show and building stories out of seemingly nothing that I find this anime fascinating.

I really enjoy Girls' Last Tour and just how unique the atmosphere and the art style is and the relationship between Yuuri and Chito. I'm also enjoying trying to find out what happened to their society based on their dialog and trying to piece things together. It's just a show that's cute and relaxing but there's a dark melancholy feeling lingering in the background as well. But there's just something not quite right about Yuuri to me and I certainly wouldn't trust someone as impulsive and reckless as her with a gun.

It's possible different kinds of people can like different kinds of shows and they can both be good to the people that appreciate them. Art is subjective to each individual.

Plenty has happened actually. It's an anime about exploration, and the characters have been exploring the world and giving us some peculiar sights. It's just not spoonfeeding you the questions.

-Where has everybody gone?
-Why are there weapons lying around from various eras?
-What can be found on the upper levels of the city? Why would a fish come from the upper levels?

The anime might or might not give an explicit answer to these, but an unusual narration doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a high score.
