This is the first series I've dropped after three episodes in a long time. The last one being Momokuri last year. This series would do great on Nick Jr or even discovery family.

Feels like I'm watching this show to see how this scrappy crew can improve themselves as each episode progresses. Though I did notice some promise in episode 3 since I was into Rito's woes of getting a creator's block.

Honestly i don't think this show will ever be "great" but episode 3 showed promise after episode 2 had me thinking about dropping it. Still more entertained by bright cartoon for kids PriPri Chi-Chan tho

more in a manga style than anime (and URAHARA did actually begin as a manga: PARK Harajuku: Crisis Team!)

Well not so much manga as a web comic, by Patrick Macias of Crunchyroll. It isn't a manga anymore than Vice & Luna. I know they put it under their manga section but they don't exactly have a web comics section.

I don't dislike URAHARA. The plot is very different than I was expecting, as I thought the source material would have been the prologue of the show. But it seems to be more inspired by the source rather than following it at this point, though I wasn't invested enough in the source to see that as a bad thing. It definitely looks like the original, as it should with the original artist as the character designer, though with regard to the animation, perhaps a bit too much. It is a passionate but bumbling production like Kemono Friends, but it doesn't seem like it will see any of the success of that show, though Kemono Friends' plotting was much better as far as such things go.

Also as much as I like donuts and macarons, I don't know that I would eat ones with elements from the creatures they were spawned from. Mostly the eyes. I do want to try a crepe with macarons in it though

This show is absolutely oozing with style and everyone seems to be, in my opinion, severely underrating it. I suppose the reviewer did call the visuals "beautiful", but.... for me, extremely rad visual designs + reasonably good J-pop = very good anime! The story is like an afterthought. Because anime stories tend to be, y'know, kinda dumb?

If I have to describe this anime with only two words it would be "beautiful" and "boring". It looks nice... but it's amazingly dull. I literally watched the first 3 episodes at 2x speed and missed absolutely nothing, story wise. And even so it felt boring. I can't imagine watching it at normal speed. There's just nothing to keep my interest.

You're right, it's pretty boring for most of the episode, and probably It will be like that till the end, but still I'd like to see more episodes.

On episode 6, so I wasn't hallucinating that Rito wanting complements felt really off since she was complemented before in past episodes. I'm glad that's cleared up.

Was I the only person that felt revolt in the last scene where they are binging on the "pastry"?

It was a little horrifying, but then again I've found eating the Scooper remains offputting from the beginning. Mostly on account of the eyes.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was a bit put off by this week's episode. The whole spoiler[Sayumin thing was bit of a surprise, but somehow I was expecting her to be more than just a BG character, but a scooper was a little much.] Situation is getting a little effed up. On the plus side, it is relatively rare for me to watch a series and not really know how the season/series is going to to end.

Late to the party but I think I now know why this series is so relaxing to me, is the same kind of colorful and LSD induced dream as Here comes the Grump, so I did not mind the long exposition of episode 8, down the rabbit hole we go Anime hyper

Yeah, they are quick to change positions on becoming Scoopers. "I need to be become a Scooper to retain popularity." "I'll become a Scooper if Mari does so we can stay together" *Rito becomes visibly more Scooperish* "Oooh Scoopers. Yeah..no thanks." I mean what did they think becoming a Scooper would be after the slimey growths appeared?
