If this won´t bring us a proper anime or life action adaptation of the original´s 3rd act than nothing will.

I might honestly pick up Shounen Jump again just for this. I'm sooooo excited! Just the little prologue story made me feel like I'd come home after a long vacation. =w=

Been waiting for this for a while now. I really got to finish the OVAs and the spin-off mangas. I never watched the anime but the manga was great, so I'm really looking forward to this.

I keep hoping that the Hokkaido arc will be successful enough to get Rurouni Kenshin a reboot/remake (by a better anime studio with better openings & endings, but with the original OST) with ALL arcs from the manga included (including BOTH Jinchuu and Hokkaido) [along with ALL characters, character designs (especially Kenshin's RED kimono) and events from the manga being retained in the reboot/remake anime series], and that VIZ Media will dub that anime. I keep hoping that VIZ Media will rescue the original Rurouni Kenshin anime & Rurouni Kenshin The Motion Picture: Requiem for the Ishin Patriots and redub them. I keep hoping that Japan will finally listen to fans and get the reboot/remake with the Jinchuu and Hokkaido arcs included. I keep hoping that Japan will stop being so afraid of animating the Jinchuu arc. Is it too much for this one to ask? :/ Am I getting my hopes up for nothing? Is it pointless to wish for such a thing? I am not sure anymore. :/

We have three versions of the Kyoto arc already. (Two good and one bad) We really don't need a fourth one. Just make a sequel to the original 1996-1998 anime starting with the Jinchu arc with the original cast and continue from there.

I know that, but not everyone has seen the original anime and unless Japan starts airing the original anime again from the beginning (and maybe re-release the original manga but I'm not sure on that one), new fans might not know the whole story. Also, if you remember in the anime, many manga characters were excluded from the anime, Kenshin was given a pink kimono, there were anime only characters (remember the two little girls?), and there was way too much filler, especially the final season. I kind of want Japan to start again but this time go with the manga stuff instead of changing it like in the original anime (if that makes sense). But then again, we may have to leave it up to the Japanese directors, studios, writers, producers, etc and also Nobuhiro Watsuki himself to decide on what they want to do or not. In the end, it's their call on what they want to do (though I hope they let Watsuki take charge and make sure it's directly from the manga and whatnot). Hope all this rambling made sense.

I guess being the the Jinchuu arc was pretty much the weakest arc of the series.
