Cool. This is a fantastic Lupin anime that should be watched by everyone. Hopefully this also means that a date for the BD release will be announced soon.

Neat. Lupin is back on TV. Blue Jacket is good.

This is great. Hopefully Toonami audiences will go for it; running old Lupin was well-intentioned, but the animation was just too old for a lot of people. This new series smartly modernizes things, while keeping everything that makes Lupin great.

I'm planning on letting Part IV be my gateway to the Lupin III franchise. Is that a good idea, or should I watch the previous parts first before watching Part IV?

It's completely fine to watch Part IV as your first one. I actually think it's the best of all the TV series. None of the shows/specials and such are really connected story-wise, it's all very episodic.
Personally I'm looking forward to the dub a lot, can't wait to hear it!

*hype intensifies*
It's too bad Fujiko Mine had too much nudity for the block, but this is a great alternate pick. I hope it does well for them, for the sake of Lupin in the US and the block itself.

If it means more people will watch this gem, then I approve.

But will they show the 0.01 second nipple in the OP?
Nope.

That has nothing to do with the show itself so I fail to see why this would even matter.
I am very surprised at this news, but I am also quite pleased with it. I remember watching Lupin back in the day on CN/Toonami. I hope after all this time the show gets some good ratings/viewership with this. New (new to Toonami) Lupin on Toonami, new dragon ball (super) on Toonami. It's as if part of my childhood is being resurrected.

Everyone won't watch it though between it being on Toonami and not having the kind of elements that a fraction of viewers look at their anime for.

It is an excellent idea to have Part IV be you gateway to Lupin III. It is an incredible entertaining show with a bit of everything that makes Lupin a classic franchise. If you want to see more Lupin after watching Part IV, I recommend Castle of Cagliostro if you want action, good visuals and silliness. And if you want a darker take watch The Woman Called Fujiko Mine and Jigen's Gravestone.

Lupin III, Part IV is an action show with comedy, light drama and amazing visuals. What else can you ask to attract a large audience.
