Neat interview, but I'm gonna have to be that guy.
It's Alisha. |

Hmmm. This was a cool interview! But I do question some stuff. He says Milla was a popular character in Western countries, but a lot of people I know hate her guts because of how she was relentlessly shilled in the game and her English voice. Also, the thing about certain characters being popular in both America and Japan may be true in some cases, but most of the time that's not true. It's more due to cultural differences and preference than anything. For example, Rose from ToZ is massively hated in Japan where here she's more better received. Dawn's Piplup from the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl anime is loved in Japan but massively hated here in America because the character is an annoying little brat.
Anyway...I wonder who'll be the English voice of Laphicet? |

While Milla has her haters, she's still super popular. For the English version of the Tales of Link smartphone game a vote was held to decide who the new icon character would be. Milla won quite handily. |

You have the release date wrong for the PC version. Currently the article says January 27th, Steam and their website says it comes out the 26th.

For those that do not know, the PS4 version currently has a playable demo, complete with a scenario mode (which includes player dialouge and what I assume to be part of an in-game mission) and a battle mode (spoiler-free).
So far, I really like the battle system. It reminds me of Tales of Graces, where you dont have to fool with mana or TP, but rather you are allocated a certain amount of "battle points" (and each arte uses a certain amount of points). Though I probably wont buy it upon release. Currently, I still have to finish Tales of Graces, then complete Xilia, Xilia 2, and Zestiria before starting Berseria.... |

This is also available on Steam. There's even a mod released already to improve shadows. |

I didn't mind the plot, but the camera in Zestiria was horrible. It was completely unacceptable and unbearable in multiplayer mode, which was already annoying for most of the game due to the plot. If playing two player, then the second player would be off screen a large portion of the time and reduced to blind button mashing. Single player was better, but still bad. There was no way to zoom out the camera unlike other Tales.
Tales has always been a great couch multiplayer series, good for couples. But not Zestiria. We hated it. |

It's been a while since I played a Tales game. With skits and all, the games are always kind of time consuming. But this interview was interesting so now I'm interested in trying out Berseria.

Great interview! I'm only familiar with the franchise via the recent anime of Tales of Zesteria, with Biseria introductory episodes inserted awkwardly in the middle of the first cour--wish they had a separate anime for it, because it was good! Velvet and Sorey certainly make for an interesting contrast. How many "Tales" games are there, and are they all based on Seraphim vs. Malevolence?

Just Zestiria and Berseria. Every other Tales game (except Symphonia and Phantasia) take place in their own separate worlds with their own world systems and conflicts. |

Nice interview. Really nice to see the impact of both Luke and Milla in the staff

Great interview!
I like the stuff they've taken notice of and really like what I've seen of Velvet and the others so far in the game and also in the couple of eps in the current anime. Plus have read about the praise the Japanese version has gotten. Really looking forward to getting my copy. Quite liked the small taste of the battle system in the demo and the English voices and skits in there were really nicely done. |

There's 16 main entries, and countless spin-offs. The only ones connected are: Zestiria and Berseria Phantasia and Symphonia Symphonia and Symphonia Dawn of the New World Xillia 1 and 2 Destiny 1 and 2 (not to be confused with Destiny II which was Eternia and renamed due to license issues in the US) Other than that, each game takes place in their own unique world. |

Is it possible for the next Tales MC not to be a Happy go lucky guy then ? in fact can he be a Hunter of some kinda that doesn't really help people on the way ? Because the way this new Producer worded that sentence makes it like being positive is a guy thing, which I find very confusing.
