None of the series I plan on watching (Flip Flappers, ClassicaLoid, and Gi(a)rlish Number) were in the ranking I don;t know whether to be happy or sad oh well the rankings are not surprising though

All my three picks made top 4, yes! Although no Classicaloid is sad, I think that one looks like it has a lot of potential to be fantastic. Fall Season looks super exciting, I think it's the season I've been most pumped about in a while

Wow the sequel shows with pre-existing fanbases scored the top? Mega shock!
I think this will be my 5th season of watching anime right as it comes out, and what I've learned is that you can rarely tell what's going to hit and what isn't. Re:Zero was dismissed as more light novel schlock by almost everyone including me, but then became smash hit of the year. Everyone was pumped for Plastic Memories before it revealed itself to be cliché ridden drivel. These polls help little when we have no idea what's in the goodie bag, but it'll be fun to see how opinions change as we dive into the new season.

While it is true that some of the hits of seasons past were not the ones that people were expecting, that applies more to new series, as usually the sequels with pre-existing fanbases do well as you said, unless executed poorly. I expect at least 2 of the top three to be near the top of the rankings and likely all three will be picked up for review.
On another note, all three of my top choices were in the top three. Even outside those it looks to be a good season

Why would you be surprised that the sequel to one of the best series of last year, as voted by critics and fans alike, would be highly anticipated? And by the way it did not do poorly with women either in the poll (7th)

I'm happy to see I'm not the only 'Murican hyped for Natsume and Yaoi on Ice
It's interesting to compare Japan hype and West hype. Ah, I love stats <3

It's interesting that Yuri on Ice is doing better with Other/Neither/Both voters than it is with Men or Women; I'm used to seeing that BL-flavored shows do better with a female audience than a male one, but I hadn't considered an audience that probably has a higher percentage of queer people than the other categories. I wonder if they vote as other genders when not given a more accurate option, and how that affects numbers too.

A bit sad but not exactly surprised that The Great Passage did so badly. I don't know too much about it either and basically voted for it because it seems to feature adults and the plot sounds fairly interesting...and yes, i'm also hoping for something that might surprise me/blow me away as much as Rakugo did and help me pass the time until season 2.
But all my other most anticipated shows made the top 10 at least.

Wow for once I actually agree with ANN readers, they have very good taste in anime also some of you guys were saying Iron-blooded Orphans was popular with ladies, well that doesn't seem like that the case then again from the looks of season 2 the show has been going for more hard core guy stuff so that understandable.

My head actually tilted a bit when I saw that Haikyu!! S3 and Yuri!!! on Ice are both at 31.1% with the Other/Neither/Both category. I did not think the hype for a new original anime would be equal to the hype of another (already hyped) anime's third season. I'm impressed, and pleased! Westerners really are starved and suckers for beautiful animation, and I just hope the studio can deliver on the quality animation it promises in the PV. (Days was underwhelming, so MAPPA has me a bit worried...)
I'm glad Bungou Stray Dogs haven't lost too much anticipation, since many people seemed to have dropped the 1st season. I mean, the comment section on S2's PV article was dead quiet, so I thought no one's interested (the comment section of that video on Youtube was quite lively though, as expected.)
Also, bless the 4.3% who voted for All Out!!
-----
BTW, won't ANN share the number of voters with us?
Combined two posts. After deleting one post in between, it looks like a double post was created, even though it wasn't. --willag

All right, everyone, stop flinging poo at one another. I'm cleaning up this thread to remove the insults and trolling.
@Deynard - You're welcome to think the list is stupid, but you better provide reasons and stop with the trolling.

I can't say i'm looking forward to a lot of series airing this season. Sound Euphorium and Occultic;Nine are the only two i'm particularly excited for. I was initially hyped for Magical Girl Raising, but I worry it's going to try too hard to be like Madoka and end falling flat on it's face.
