I was pleasantly surprised to see this reviewed, as I had no clue it had been released here! That said, I look forward to this seeing this title. I think I read all of the Takahashi's short stories (all the ones released by Viz a reeeeally long time ago) and I enjoyed them a lot and prefer them to Takahashi's long series like Ranma and InuYasha. In a short story, Takahashi is forced to actually move the story along and give it an ending... unlike Inuyasha.

Strange that it mentions Ranma1/2 but didn't include Urusei Yatsura in any of that.

Well, it's one of those things. Sure some people know Urusei Yatsura, but alot more know Ranma and Inu Yasha. Viz and others have been pinning Rumiko with Ranma and InuYasha, but lately they have pinning with them as well as Mainson Ikkoku and Urusei Yatsura, which is good for these often over looked series.

I have to admit, I got into Manga via Maison Ikkoku 20 odd years ago. Always thought Ramna and InuYasha were over-rated.
I think I'll look up this collection (if it gets to the UK).

I thought it was odd that Carlos Santos singled out Rumiko Takahashi's character designs for particular acclaim; her designs have their strong points, but there are dozens if not hundreds of manga artists whose character designs have much more going for them. It's Takahashi's storytelling abilities, from her page layouts to her ability to wring expressiveness out of her fairly bland-looking kewpie-doll characters, that makes her popular.
