CN was advertising it as the "world premiere" broadcasting of Pokemon - Destiny Deoxys. Of course, this is not true - the movie was broadcasted on Kids' WB back on January 22, and did very well for them, as stated in this report.

What amazes me is even after the movies have been basically mass produced, and the story lines recycled and sucked of originality, the animation quality of these movies always end up to be very good. =P

I noticed that too, and then I realized that most of Cartoon Network's "world premieres" are old hat. "World premiere" episodes of Dragonball? Nope, that show is 15+ years old, no way it's a world premiere. Just let them have their fun. (And yay, I contributed a news item!) |

I love it when CN states "World premiere" when the particular show has been viewed on TV around the world. The U.S. isn't exactly the first country besides Japan to get manga/anime.

To me, the phrase "world premiere" is nothing more than a buzzword to lure more people to watch. That doesn't mean that Destiny Deoxys is a bad movie - I thought it was pretty decent. It's not the best Pokemon movie out there, but I did enjoyed watching it. I prefer to watch the Pokemon movies instead of the TV series, in which I think is a little too childish for me.

I'm glad I'm not alone in watching these movies; my sister is looking at me like I'm crazy, but I'm secure enough in my anime fandom to take a break from deeply-involving series and watch an anime that isn't too heavy. |

I totaly agree about taking a break from the more heavier, adult anime. Its nice to watch something more light hearted and different for a change. I thought the movie was good for what it was, even if it was dubbed. the biggest dub problem for me was the annoying pokemon that kept saying their name over and over again. |

I watched it,i liked it.
Yeah,I've been wondering that for the longest time.Because in the show when the pokemon talk to eachother they just say there name over and over, like they understand eachother. |

It's the same in the Japanese; all the pokemon can say (with exceptions) is their name, or they just growl/squeal/etc. The difference is, in the Japanese it's not quite so painful on the ears.

Another addendum to the prior news report: CN will air Pokemon 4Ever on Friday (May 20) at 8:00 PMEDT. They will replay the movie on Saturday (May 21) at 5:00 PM EDT and Sunday (May 22) at 5:00 PM EDT.

Yeah...that's kinda what I was trying to point out in the news submission, but apparentally whoever checks that simply restated that the Deoxys movie was played on Sunday as well instead of posting the new information about Pokemon 4Ever that I sent in. Tempest, is there a way to fix the news post? |

Now all we need to know is when or if CN will air the fifth Pokemon movie: Pokemon Heros - Latias & Latios.

I have to admit that I do like the movies myself. For the most part, they do have some pretty good storylines. Too bad the show can't take the hint and put more storylines in it.
Even though with today's E3 showing of Pokemon X D: Gale of Darkness, I'm thinking Nintendo is trying to make the series more story based. EDIT: Blasted emoticons. |
