I managed to hear and see Hiroko Moriguchi at Animelo Summer Live 2012 sing:
Mizu no Hoshi e Ai wo Komete (Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam OP) and Eternal Wind -Hohoemi wa Hikaru Kaze no Naka- (Mobile Suit Gundam F91 ED) If you have only heard the versions on the anime or released at the time, you should hear how she sounds more recently, e.g. this clip from 2011(?): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKuxHAqjXuo I hope that she can deliver another great song! PS, today is her 48th birthday. |

That's really amazing news! I loved the songs she did for Zeta Gundam and Gundam F91, I look forward to hearing the song she'll sing for Gundam: The Origin. She's one of my favorite J-pop singers and I'm glad that she's been given the opportunity to perform another song for the Gundam franchise.
How was it seeing Moriguchi sing live? I'm sure it was a fun experience. Happy Birthday Hiroko Moriguchi! |

I hadn't heard any recordings of her singing those songs before, but she had an amazing voice and as a secret guest, the audience were very pleased for her to be there. Blog post by Hiroko Moriguchi: http://www.diamondblog.jp/official/hiroko_moriguchi/2016/06/13/ |

That's a very awesome picture there, Moriguchi looks so pretty in the dress she's wearing and the group featured in front of a life-sized version of the Charter of the Universal Century. Is the man standing beside her in the black suit jacket Shuuichi Ikeda? The picture is small and I can't tell if that's him.

Yes, it would be Ikeda-san, given the cast list at: http://www.gundam.info/gundam-live-expo/ |

I love that Lantis seems to have revived her career after such a long layoff with One Punch Man and now she's finally coming back to Gundam after 25 years. For the record she sang the power ballad Eternal Wind for Gundam F91 as her last contribution to anime before she suddenly became active again last year. If the ending theme to Part IV is even half as memorable this should be a treat as they just don't make theme songs like this anymore.

In terms of new anime songs, yes, but if you search Youtube you'll find lots of different performances by Hiroko Moriguchi of Mobile Suit Gundam F91 ED "Eternal Wind" and to a lesser extent Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam OP "Mizu no Hoshi e Ai wo Komete" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbshrfQm_L4 from television appearances and Gundam events. The only other anime songs that she sang that I could find until the One Punch Man ED "Hoshi yori saki ni mitsukete ageru" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-TxAUiwo18 were: the insert song to Mobile Suit Gundam Z "Silver Dress" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cgohpd2UstQ, and from 1988: Ronin Warriors OP2 "Samurai Heart" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XI2SgY05U8 Ronin Warriors ED2 "Be Free" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XW9Ap1Z8YSM. Enjoy... |
