Pleasantly surprised by the typings. Now I'm convinced; I'm going for Lunala.

It's ironic that Solgaleo and Lunala are weak against the elements they represent (Solgaleo: weakness to Fire, Lunala: 4x weakness to Dark).
Edit: Forgot to mention that Lunala's dual typing also make her doubly vulnerable to Ghost-type moves.

It's not that kind of Dark. In Japan it's the "Evil" type. Notice how pretty much every Dark-type move revolves around playing dirty in one way or another.
Though yeah, Solgaleo, whose name pretty much means "Sun Lion", having a weakness against fire...That's a bit absurd.

Well I'm even more convinced that Moon will be the way to go. Most people I know prefer Solgaleo but honestly, what's cooler than a ghost moon bat?

I wouldn't really call those new abilities, they're the same thing as Clear Body and Multiscale.

This is the first set of games where I actually like both the legendaries equally. Other games, it's been an automatic, 'I want this one!'.

I think I prefer Lunala over Sogaleo so will probably go for Moon but anyway I happy with the content they've shown so far

Yeah it is pretty lazy and not cool especially with how they are protracting them as new abilities

From what I can tell, they are emissaries of the sun and moon, but are not in control of them. If that's true, you could read their weaknesses as a sort of 'deference' to their 'masters.'

Am I the only one who saw the name of Solgaleo's Ability as a possible reference to Full Metal Panic?

So the emissary of the sun is also know as "the beast that devours the sun"... that doesn't sounds right...

Just a theory, sir. Game Freak has been careful about making sure legendaries aren't gods after they went overboard with Gen IV (or at least, not too powerful ones), and this would fall in line with that.
As for what people revere them as, well, legends are always up to interpretation. Many similar titles were given to normal animals by people in the past.
