Glad to finally have a PV for the second season. Season one wasn't as horrible as certain people on the internet try to make it out to be, and was some amusing popcorn fluff, so I'm looking forward to just watching this one once it starts airing.
One thing about the article though, when mentioning the light novel, there was no mention of Yen Press' licensing of the series for distribution in North America. May have wanted to include that information as well.

Wow, the opening theme sounds amazing as ever, and I thought it couldn't get any better than the theme from the first season.

STOP IT A1! STOP!
You can do better than this. Give us something like Nanana's Buried Treasure, where the characters are, oh I don't know, UNIQUE?! Where the story is, say, INTRIGUING?! How is it this show gets a second season when there are far better shows with not nearly as many episodes that are far more deserving?! Why do people not want nice things in this world?!

So for people who know what happens, does anything happen after the Festa? Or is it all just gravy in the end and that's it? because that'd be disappointing. I haven't seen rakudai but all the boob gifs on my twitter TL aren't exactly encouraging.
Last year there was Unlimited Fafnir which didn't have an arena thing but was actually going somewhere (if only they animated Firill's arc. It's very touching.). And Seirei Tsukai no Kenbu had an arena thing like the Festa but that was after the last episode in the LNs. Halfway through the Blade Dance a real plot took over when "Ren Ashbell" -not Kamito showed up and they actually won the Blade Dance. and that wish? Yeah f*ck that they just killed a god-tier spirit instead of taking that wish.

cry all you want but it was already established that the adaptation would consist of 2 seasons long ago.

I know. I know they established it would get a second season. I'm just saying it because this show is pretty bad. Not bland like SAO, not generic like so many other shows. BAD.
What saddens me more is that people are complacent and will watch it anyway. The anime community seems to be too forgiving these days. We need to expect better...
...of course that still means nothing because foreign anime fans don't usually influence what gets made. It's usually the Japanese fans, and since the Asterisk War has tonnes of fans of the series it looks like all our hate is completely pointless.

The best thing that can possible come out of this show is to inspire an Asterisk War Sucks Season 2 from digibro.

Well for one thing this is the Phoenix Festa, for tag battles. There's still Gryps and Lindvolus after this.

so does it become like Pokemon, where they'll lose and try again and again and again?

Belated reply, but . . . well it'll be a spoiler if I tell you who wins or loses right?
But let me just say the festas are completely separated things, and you get your wish granted (as far as they can figure out a way to do it without compromising themselves too badly) as long as you win a festa somehow. Claudia's brought it up before, but she wants Ayato on her Gryps team for certain personal reasons completely unrelated in Ayato's current goal of getting Julis her wish.
