O_O Tartakovsky is directing the Astro Boy movie?! I did not know this...
Now this makes things interesting. I'd like to see Tartakovsky handle live-action. He's already more than proven himself as an animation director. |

A live action Astro Boy? I can already tell this one's going to suck. Not only does it lose Tezuka's storytelling, but I bet that they're going to take most of the storys substance out as well.

Here's a question for him. Why the hell does the show keep getting pulled off the air. And as for the movie, I don't like the idea. I'm really tired of stupid super hero movies that are 80% CGI, 19% Live action, and 1% plot. I fear it will be A.I. all over again.

A.I. was kinda a laugh fest for me. I can't really say why though. It just was =P Anyway, I never like to fall to conclusions about live action movie adaptions, at least just yet. I'd give it a chance, and I'll decide if it sucks after I see it. Although, I'm not a large fan of Astro Boy. Sure, it's classical and old, but I don't really care much for most of the characters and such, as they all feel pretty flat to me too often. Of course, that's just me. |

Considering that "A.I." was an absolute (yet misunderstood) masterpiece and, in my opinion,the best movie of 2001, it's the best thing that can possibly happen. Unfortinately, it is not going to happen. It can end up being an entertaining action movie (especially for younger kids) but I don't think it's going to end up being very deep. |

A.I. was nothing more than a poorly contrived bastard child of Steven Spielberg who ruined the entire movie by adding that "Extra 30 Minute" sap fest instead of ending it with the "death" of the main character. Spielberg turned Kubrick's icy intellect and brilliant cinematic technique into something shallow and tear-jerking. |

I couldn't disagree more. "A.I." was dark and brilliant. I think Kubrick would've liked it. FYI, Kubrick wanted Spielberg to direct it. And Spielberg admited that he would've done movie differently but he wanted to preserve Kubrick's original vision. |

You've never seen 2001: A Space Odyssey or Clockwork Orange, haven't you? That little "extra" ruined the movie. It would've been okay if it ended earlier, but Spielburg had to go "How Spielburgian" and push that little extra and ruin the movie, making very Un-Kubrick. |

So, you're from the magical future where this was released and bombed because of how much it sucked? Because you know, that's the only way you could tell it's going to suck. Especially considering it hasn't even started production yet. Fandom is a disease. |

Hard to call it "fandom" when all people do is complain about every minor announcement. There has to be a word for it that doesn't imply that these people like anything. |

The simple fact that Tartakovsky is attatched means that it's nothing to sneeze at.
Anyone see Samurai Jack episode 50 the other night? Bad ass. |

I'll see it when I believe it. Just because he rocks on Samurai Jack, doesn't equate to him doing a great job on Astro Boy. |

 Does that mean, we'll see some half naked boy fly around in red underwear?!?   I'm sure Micheal Jackson will approve of this project.
Regardless of it's flaws, the sequel broke even and it was entertaining to say in the least. hmm..speaking of the undead,Shaun of the dead looks somewhat promising..
