They all look great, but I like the one from Stephanie Blakey on Page 1, Pail Straatmann on Page 2, and Ferquin N.C. Root on Page 4. Too bad I can't draw anything out side of stick people. ^^;;;

I like the first ones on pages 1 & 2 and the ones from Annie & Elysian on page 3.
I was gonna try to do one, but just couldn't find enough time in the day. Ahh, the holidays - busy Busy Busy.....

I especially like the last on page one (the color balance is awesome), the last two on page two (quite funny and romantic respectively), and the third-to-last on page three.
The one in the reindeer costume on page 2 would be really kinky if she had a chest and was wearing something strappy and revealing. 
The one by Mirana Reveier (page 4, #6) has great potential, but the face is all wrong. And the last one on page 4 would be one of my favorites if her feet weren't cut off.

The one that won the contest was alright, but it was not the best by far. The one that was drawn by Annie on page three should have won - it looked like a professional had drawn it. And yes, I entered, my entries are the three on top of page four. Oh well, it's a matter of personal choice I suppose!

I expected this comment. And I know you're joking but... 1: It was drawn by a woman 2: One of the three people on staff that voted it as their favorite was a woman 3: One of the guys who voted for it said that it had his vote as long as we weren't worried about the cleavage. 4: The rest of us were too busy drooling to realize it might have been an issue. |

I just think it's kinda....inappropriate for a news site. I mean, if this was just a fan site maybe....but this is supposed to be a reputable news site....
Cleavage doesn't make a site reputable. (And that's actually a bit MORE than cleavage.) And even though it was drawn by a woman, and ONE woman voted on it, doesn't mean it's not kinda gross to look at every day. *shrug* Either I'll get over it or I'll just wait until the holidays are over to come back. No big deal. |

The only problem I have with the skin is that I often browse this site at work. Fortunately I work in information systems and both my co-worker in IS and boss are cool with it. However, my co-worker (who is male) did say "they picked THAT?" with this expression --> because of the cleavage.
I have to say that by entering this contest (which was the first time I've entered an anime drawing contest even though I've been drawing that style for a while), I certainly knew I wasn't going to win, but I've definitely learned something! The more nudity the pic has, the better the chance of it winning. The next time I enter an anime drawing contest and the subject is a female, screw the costume, I'm drawing her with pasties and dental floss!

I can't draw so I didn't enter the contest. I figured that one of the cute SD ones would have won. I *never* would have thought that the sexual one would have won. It's not a bad drawing....it's just not a good choice for the site.....
I, too, view the site from work. But I'm married to our Network Admin so I don't have any problems from that side. However, I do frequently have people walking in and out of my office. |

Come on, Tempest, no need to make such a big secret out of it. I was worried the cleavage might be inappropriate, but I still voted for that banner because it's oozing so much warmth and joy. I'm not kidding you when I say she won *Despite* the cleavage, not because of it.
BTW, "genericanimefan", I don't know if it's a consolation, but you were a *very* close contender. |
