Sneezin's Greetings!
Ohtahh-ahh--CHOO!!

--Sorry if this type of thread is played out, folks--
I have come, just in the past 4 years, to a deeper sense of appreciation for Hayao Miyazaki's (and Studio Ghibli's founding anime) Masterpiece: Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. -I'm finally learning too, more of it's spiritual connection with Princess Mononoke....
After obtaining some of the art books (blah, blah...), it was time to get some music -especially after wanting Narumi Yasuda's lovely little-old Nausicaä "symbol theme" J-pop song! (played with the original theatrical trailers)
Not my REAL Q's, but if you please:
-What's tha song really called? (+ the other track)
-Were they poems Miyazaki-san wrote?
--Who knows the LYRICS??
Thanks!
The actual point of my thread is:
Knowing full well the body of Joe Hisiashi's work for the movie was synthesizer, I picked up the "Image Album" with those old J-pop singles. I realize their isn't much traditional scoring, but I'm a little familiar with Kitaro and Vangelis, more especially Jan Hammer's work -so I appreciate that & I'm prepared... *gulp*
(itunes has a WONDERFUL "Nausucaä symphonic poem: 1st movement" which basically is all the symphonic themes beautifully composed into one 9+ minutes of epically awesome music!! -Sounds like it's performed by the original "Wonder City Orchestra" too!)
(Blah, blah & more BLAH...)
So my main question is for those familiar with most/owning all of the music available on CD:
-What is recommended between the: Soundtrack, "Best Collection" (highlights), High-Tech Series?
-Which one has the most symphonic material?
-Is the "Symphonic suite" album (w/opening tapestry-glyphs cover) the only one?
-What is the "Drama CD"? (Nausicaä sitting on Ohmu w/spores cover)
Mainly:
--Which one would compliment my Image Album I just picked up? (don't worry, they're all authentic Tokuma Japan, Studio Ghibli Records CD's that I've bought -I respect BOTH artists too much to bootleg their magnificence!)
This would be so kind of any of you crazy 80's synth-style, Nausicaä music lovin' soundtrack otaku's!
I encourage also any enthusiastic replies from those who've enjoyed even just a sample of what "Yao-Miy" (some in other Asian countries, possibly Thailand call him that! Who knew?) and mainly Hisiashi-san experimented with to bring such a uniquely organic sound from digital instruments way back then.
(crusty Neverending Story-like music era be DAMNED!!)
thanks MUCH.
Been awhile.
