If even this description only earns "D+" for story, then what rate many other -- charachter-based -- manga should be given in that department? Should it be "F" or "G"?
But I barely, if at all, remember such low marks in review. It seems like grades get really compressed around "D" level.

I bought the first Omnibus to give it a try and wasn't really impressed story-wise. I really like the artwork, but I'm at a crossroad with this manga; should I continue or not
Anyone?

Have you seen the anime? I thought it was entertaining and enjoyable. Maybe after seeing the anime will change your mind.

Didn't watch the anime. I guess because I wasn't the biggest fan of Oh! Great's other manga turned anime Air Gear, I passed on watching it. I'm curious to know if the artwork gets better as the series progresses or the story or both.

I think that is being charitable, to say the least. Let's be honest, this is Oh!Great we're talking about. The man should stick to drawing and find himself a partner to do the writing, because it is inevitable that his works' story will always, always jump the shark. This one is no exception, so I wouldn't hold my breath on the story getting any better (or even to the point of being coherent). The frustrating part is that he is so damn good at drawing...

I figured as much . And I agree, I really like his artwork, so I guess I'll put his stuff in the "If there's nothing else to read" pile, (with my read list, I don't see me EVER reading his stuff....).

Not much argument from me that it's often the art carrying the series. With that in mind, I stopped caring about the domestic releases after seeing how badly butchered they were.
Are things better with Viz at the helm? I honestly figured this was a series doomed to never see a decent English version, but I'd love to be wrong here.

Oh, the nudity is there . I'm not sure if the translation is any better.
