This sounds extremely exciting to me, and it's good to know this is still viable in the current economic climate.

It's more than that. In Europe and Asia, the local studios are improving their infrastructure to attract foreign investments. Being one of the Japan's oldest film business, Toei knows that they can't rely on domestic sales alone. Foreign invest is important because production budget of film and animation is steadily increasing and they can't make state-of-the-art films and animations with outdated equipments and infrastructure.

I thought japan was all about fighting tooth and nail to keep the infastructure as 19th centry as it possibly can.
