serious? that's an older title that I figured had long run it's course... guess it'd be dirt cheap, but can't imagine why they are relicensing it...

ETA... it's an old geneon, that you can still pick up for $12 all told at Amazon.

Hmm, never seen the anime but I have read some of the manga, reminded me a little bit of Aria but with magic.

Oh cool. The cover art for this always looked really beautiful when I stumbled across it on RightStuf, but I never managed to find out much more about the series.

I only saw one episode and that was years ago but...yeah, was anyone really asking for this? Probably the last thing I'd expect to get license rescued from Geneon...

Unless they are going to get Natsu no Sora, I can't think of any possible decent reason to rescue this.

Now why the hell did FUNimation pass this classic show up?

But it's about [expletive] time someone rescued Someday's Dreamers! Now they need to grab Satoshi Kon's stuff...

I agree, since I already own the original set with artbox, I would be more interested if Natsu no Sora came around as well. I have no reason to double dip with this series, even though I enjoyed it. Hopefully second time around sales are enough to justify the second series since both have a very nice art style.

Silly Sentai, that's not how you spell Higurashi. . . . Wink

I vaguely remember checking series out, but didn't make it past the first couple of episodes.

I own the full Geneon release, but didn't think the show was anything special. Oh well. I hope it makes Sentai money and a lot of people happy.

Personally, I'm overjoyed to see Sentai releasing this. It shows that they're continuing to recapture ADV's old glory, what with the licensing of shows that are a little older or less popular than most, and giving them another shot. As somebody who grew up with the anime industry full of companies like this in the mid-2000's, I'm very excited to see a company take that type of stance with their licenses and releases! Smile

Hmm, what an odd anime to license. I mean, it is totally worth it. I own it, and it's awesome. The old Geneon DVDs aren't that rare however, so there isn't really a need yet for a rescue, and I can't imagine it'll be very profitable for Sentai. Do they intend to license the second series as well? That'd be cool, since it hasn't been released in English yet.

They play a couple of shows like this all the time on their Anime Network's service at any given time, so I'm not surprised at all they would add something like this to their roster of releases...

The world of anime is simply boring recently..nothing out that even sparks my interest outside of the new fullmetal alchemist movie.
