Theatrical Dates

This is when the anime was produced or when it was first made publicly available in a given country/region. Subsequent re-releases should not be entered as vintage.

For a movie, the vintage is when the movie finished production. Often this date is not known; rather, what we usually know is the Premiere date, which should not be entered as vintage. For example, Millennium Actress premiered on 2001-07-28 but we know the vintage is 2001-01-23 because the director wrote when the production finished on his website.

If a vintage has already been added but you can provide more detail (e.g. the full date instead of a partial date, or start+end dates instead of just start date), you should simply add the information you have and then submit an error report for the incomplete information.
