The Simpsons and anime, there are a ton of paradies, homages and apences. Oh who can forget Mr. Sparkle. There was Transerzoids. The time when they went to Japan. There was even a couch gag were Homer was dressed a Ultara Man, Marge dressed as that girl from Gatchaman (I don't know her name) Bart was dresed a Astro Boy, Lisa as Sailor Moon and Maggie as Pikachu. And Speaking of Pikachu it once had a acomeo in a wierd daydream Bart had.

But did yoyu know that The Simpsons influnced the end of Pokemon the movie 2000 if you don't belive me compare:

Quote:
Shopkeeper:Take this objet, but beware it comes with a terrible curse!
Homer: Ooooh, That's bad.
Shopkeeper: But it comes with a free frogurt!
Homer: That's good
Shopkeeper: The frogurt is also cursed
Homer: That's bad.
Shopkeeper: But you your choice of toppings
Homer: That's good
Shopkeeper: The toppings contain potassium benzoate.
(Homer stares at shopkeeper)
Shopkeeper: That's bad.

Quote:
Jessie: So we're not bad
James: That's good.
Meowth: What if the boss finds out
James: That's bad
Jessie:Then we'll start our own team.
James: That Good
Meowth: But we got no money
James: That's bad.
Jessie: Then we just steal some
James: That's good... oh wiat is that bad.

If any else thought of any thing put it in here.

I dont think The Simpsons influnced the end of Pokemon the movie 2000. There is actualy a kind of poem that is like that something good then somethign bad and it gose on(one of the few things I remeber from highschool englsih). But ya there were a bunch of anime parady stuff in the simpsons.

Matt Groening since to be a fan of Osamu Tezuka. He was one of the people who thought that the Lion King was a rip-off.

Uh, I highly doubt that. Team Rocket dialog normally has some weird theme to it whether it be alliteration, bad punnage or some other device.

How quickly we forget the Seizure Robots!

I think that in the "Mr Sparkle" episode when it is explained that mr sparkle's face was a fusion of a fish and a bulb and not just a copy of homer's face may parody the fact that many [human] anime characters often look like animals.

I love both the simpsons and anime but I doubt the ending was influenced by the simpsons episode. I dont recall when that episode aired but I doubt it reached the people in japan early enough to influence any people in japan (unless the people in who made the pokemon movie liked to import all kinds of simpsons stuff which could be the case)

Ps maybe it was influenced by something else like the guy that mentioned some poem it could have come from. SInce simpsons parodies soo many different things(which isnt necessarily bad since thats kinda what makes the simpsons funny, well that and HOmer Wink )

In an old episode, I think the one Bart learns Karate, there is a banner which says "Akira wanders Neo Tokyo" or something like that. I remeber the in jokes in ST TNG a little better.
