Do we have any heads in here? Heres a few albums that reference anime off the top of my head. Does anyone have anymore?
King Geedorah - Take Me to Your Leader (Includes several voice samples from Fist of the North Star. The Fine Print also uses the horns from the Battle of the Planets theme song as a beat.) EPMD - Unfinished Business (Stomp mudholes in posses like who?, like Gigantor.) PMD - Shade Business (references Gigantor again) Wu-Tang Clan - 36 Chambers (Meth talking about how they all form like Voltron with GZA as the head) Pharcyde - Humboldt Begginings (reference to strong weed puching you the chest like Dragon Ball Z) Monsta Island Czars - Escape from Mosta Island (Includes a reference to Super Saiyans. Also has lots of references and samples from Godzilla. All the MCs are named after Godzilla villains.) Company Flow - Funcrusher Plus (samples the line from Vampire Hunter D, "I've heard of a mutant who could twist space around him, and now I've met him.") Of course there are like a million references to Transformers, but thats really not anime. |

This is a lyrical combat, gentlemen hold your pistols \ But I form like Voltron and blast you with my shoulder missiles \ Slim Shady, Eminem was the old initials (Bye-bye!) ...] Full Lyrics Also, Dan42 the ANN Encyclopedist pointed out last week that Barenaked Ladies song called One Week has reference "Sailor Moon" as being the boom anime babes. [..."Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon \ 'Cause the cartoon has got the boom anime babes \ that make me think the wrong thing"...] I know they are more i just can't remember.. |

Hey J-Syxx i have a question. Since the CD was released in July 2004, its fairly new. ;which means that online lyrics sites don't have the yrics up for that cd yet. I really want to hear them compare how smoking bud hurts like dbz. I think thats kinda funny. lol Its about time someone said something about it lol. Do you know the name of the song from that Pharcyde cd. I don't feel like downloading all the song? Click Here for Track List |

Yea, I remember that now that you mention it. I haven't listened to that album in ages. And actually the Slim Shady LP is his second album. But it is the most raw out of all of them. No bashing Boybands or gays to get to the children.
Yea, I can't remember which track, but I'll get back to you on that one. The new Pharcyde is ill btw. Their best since Labcabincalifornia. |

Yes. Transformers were invented by Americans. The character designs were done by John Romita Sr. It may have been animated in asia, but so was Scooby Doo. Scooby Doo isn't anime now is it? I'm also aware of where the toy molds came from, but that has no bearing on whether or not its anime. I find "transfans" calling Transformers anime, but I think they are seeking some kind of validation for their show for some reason. The television sequels in Japan of course are anime. I just prefer to use anime to describe Japanese animation, rather than anything thats an action cartoon. I also know that the Japanse call everything animated anime and the word is of French origin, but we are speaking from a North American definition of the term.

I wouldn't actually refer to Transformers as Anime, If such were the case then GIjOE (also animated in Japan courtesy of Toei Doga studios.) would be considered anime which it is not.
I was somewhat surprised to find Transformers listed in ANN's My Anime section. But honestly, the Movie had that Anime feel to it.breaking traditional boundries of western animation.regardless of it's dismal performance at the box office, ( IMO Most Americans are skeptical of any non-Disney Threatrical release.) I praise the people at Sunbow/Marvel and Hasbro for taking a chance of releasing this Movie. (Big shout out goes to former VP of Hasbro's Marketing division and all around nice guy, Kirk Bozigian. Best of luck wherever you are. ) |

Well this isn't a direct lyric but ghostface's first video for his first solo the Classic Iron Man(the first single being Daytona 500)was completly a old Speed Racer episode. And I mean completly cause you don't see him at all or any body for that instance it's just the Anime.
