(Edit: No, wait, this WAS a repeat, the Nazi episode is called "To be, or Nazi be")

Yes, they were shown out of order. "To be, or Nazi be" should have been episode 3, but was never shown. "Hell Toupee" was episode 20 and shown as episode 19 here in the states back in May 2003 according to TV Tome.

Godammit why? its adult swim, I dont think it needs to be censored. They let Wolfs Rain go by with quite a bit of blood. Cowboy Bebop too (with the exception of cutting a gay scene).

According to Anime on DVD:

The Cartoon Network broadcast will be uncut, but digital painting to reduce blood and things of that sort might happen if CN thinks its necessary.

So basically, Funi is giving CN the tapes uncut, and CN will decide if some things need to be edited. Judging by what I've seen on Adult Swim's most recent shows, they can get away with quite a lot.

And please, no one give any specific examples of what may or may not be edited on FMA; that only makes it more likely it'll be edited.

Okay, you remember the "Black Dog Serenade" episode of Cowboy Bebop, where the one inmate spoiler[slit the other's throat] in zero-G? It was very bloody originally, and Cartoon Network edited out some of the blood...but regardless it remained substantially bloody. That's basically how far it'll get with Full Metal Alchemist, by my understanding.

Anyway, AS was "one step closer to being uncut" when they ran Big O and FLCL completely unedited (I don't consider enlarging a pre-existing mosaic by a couple pixels to be "editing," nor do I consider it worth noting that a rather forgettable and unnecessary "shit" from Haruko got bleeped as per FCC standards & practices...so FLCL's run uncut in my book). Just pointing out... Wink

Everyone seems so worried about blood. Hasn't anyone been watching Case Closed? That show's been REEEEALLY bloody. As in splattered everywhere, and it's been uncut (unless you count digital changes for kanji on the screen).

Cartoon Network has being doing less and less with the editing of there anime that has been showing up on adult swim or late at night. This is a hopeful sign that even if the do some digital editing cover so blood that is fine because you will still see the entire show. Unless you would, rather they just cut out the scenes because I do not.

Yeah, Case Closed is an excellent way for AS to test which types of violence they can get away with, heh heh.

But Nagisa, you also have to remember that Bebop was about three years ago, and things have changed a lot since then. If Bebop were to debut today, it would probably run completely uncut with the exception of Gren in episode 12 (though incidently, that was the edit I had the biggest problem with). There is only one episode in FMA where I think digital paint would even need to be considered, but even then I think it could easily air uncut.

Trigun demonstrated that gun-related violence is really the only pressure point for Adult Swim. And since I can't think of any instances in FMA so far in which a character has had a gun pressed against their temple, I wouldn't be surprised to see the entire show run completely uncut.
