Yeah, that was my reaction, too. I thought they went defunct a few years ago.

I did not expect this. I had figured that AnimEigo had abandoned anime licensing, if not become outright defunct. Then again, this isn't really a 'conventional' anime license that would appeal to the audience here. Given that it's to be sold at Wal*Mart and Toys'R'Us, perhaps they're trying to enter a more general 'children's entertainment' market.
Ah well, regardless, it's nice that they're not yet dead.

Great news! Now we can all scream "Leggo my AnimEigo!".
Well, I've a feeling two people are buying this title who are registered here.
Theron is one of them.
I can sense it.

But will they chop off the OP and ED sequences?
It is nice to see that Animeigo isn't dead though.

And here I thought Animeigo was focusing more on getting old live-action Japanese movies judging from what I seen of their available titles not too long ago.

Bandai slips away, and out of the shadows comes ol AnimEigo
While Its nothing more then Hello Kitty, I'm glad to seem them still around, I also really hope they haven't given up on the R1 anime market.

I always liked AnimEigo. I wish nothing but the best for them with this.

From Bubblegum Crisis and Urusei Yatsura to... Hello Kitty.
What a long, strange trip it's been, AnimEigo.

AnimEigo
Dub
Hello Kitty
I'll have to admit that these three terms in the same sentence required me to read it a few times before it sunk in.
I thought it was a practical joke at first.
Good to see AnimEigo doing something new. Been a while for them.

They kind of have to dub this. It's not like there's enough otaku that'd buy a sub only release of Hello Kitty to make licensing it worthwhile. Wonder if they're gonna include a sub track, tho. That'd be funny.

Wow, an actual anime release from AnimEigo, now that is something else. I thought they stopped licensing anime years and years ago.
Last AnimEigo show I watched was Your Under Arrest and that was licensed several years back.
But I must say AnimEigo, from Your Under Arrest, Urusei Yatsura and at a time I think even another Police show to Hello Kitty, it's been an interesting choice of anime over the years hasn't it been?
But the fact that they are dubbing a anime, now that is impressive as well.

I'm actually kinda interested which dubbing studio they're going to use for this release, honestly. Most of their dubs were done by Coastal Carolina, and even though their dubs were usually cheap and often strayed from the script a little, I always thought they did a pretty decent job.
