It's been a long wait to get Here is Greenwood on DVD and it just keeps getting longer. It's already been released in both VHS subs and dubs and bilingual LD, seems like they would have been quick to get it on DVD too! They could easily fit the series on one DVD, it's only 6 episodes. I can wait, but I just need reasurance that it's happening sometime. I guess I could get the VHS tapes, but ever since I got a DVD player i've become spoiled.

It's a great series about life in an all mens dorm. All the characters have their own little quarks for example one never gets a scar on his face no mater how bad it's cut, and another doesn't quite look like he belongs there. There's actually a lot going on, everything from one guy being haunted by the spirited of a schoolgirl that follows him everywhere (yes, everywhere) and another about puting on the school plays (which includes a very cool production of Lupin III). It's deffinatly worth a rent at least, but I don't think anyone should pass it up. It's such a clean series, simple, but not dumbed down, no loose ends, the characters even fill in plot holes by telling you what we may have missed in the manga.

Yeah, Here is Greenwood rules. Well, parts of it, at least. It's a 6-episode version of a much larger manga, which means that pretty much all of the episodes are largely independant of each other, and it assumes you've read the manga to piece together the large gaps of time between each episode.
It's pretty cool, though. A real down-to-earth show that doesn't become an unwatchable, hormone-filled, harem-show masturbatorium.
