GTO, Kare Kano, and I hear Azumanga Daioh also fits that genre (though I haven't seen it.)

But GTO is a definate. The live action series is also a must. Wink

Just what exactly do you mean by a slice of life genre?

Series that have few, if any, unordinary elements to the story. Much more realistic situations and rather believable characters.

Definately Kare Kano.

Its not exactly slice-of-life, but Haibane Renmei just exudes a very 'real' light on being a person. Absolutely touching.

I'm guessing Fruits Basket would fit in, except it does have the curse thing, but other than that, yeah, it's slice of life.

Wait a minute, what language are you watching it in? If you're watching it in English, that may be the problem.

I find the dub very dull and atrocious ALL the time. Voice acting is a big part of this series in bringing out the characters, and if you can't get a feel for them, then the show won't be as fun because it's all about the characters and the situations they face.

In this case, I'd say the original voice acting makes up about half of the show, with the other half being the story, and some music to fit the ocassions. But yes, I cannot stress enough how important it is to at least watch the series once in Japanese. If you haven't yet, please do me the favor and re-watch from the beginning (in Japanese). I guarantee the show will be so much fun, and if you're curious afterwards, you can go back and watch in English a second time. Thanks! Wink

nope. Harem/fantasy/scifi elements.
Slice of life generally deals with normal situations and lets life flow. Figure 17 is most of time slice of life. FLCL is often enough, but neither are true slice of life.
I really don't tend to watch the genre, but they generally don't involve:
-Harem,
-Mecha
-Monsters

Look into some shoujo anime, because there's a ton there.

Some titles that come to mind:

Aishiteruze Baby
Boys Over Flowers
