I haven't seen it but the order is Crest of the Stars, Banner of the Stars, Banner of the Stars 2. Lost Chapter of the Stars - Birth is the prequel to Crest of the Stars, but since I haven't seen it I don't know if you could watch it first, or if you should wait until after finishing Crest of the Stars

I've seen Crest, Banner, & Banner II, and I think they're all absolutely wonderful series. The cast is very well-developed and the universe created for the series is surprisingly fleshed out for only appearing in three short TV series. The story is very heavy on dialogue and relatively light on action, though (Banner being an exception, somewhat), but it's still absolutely captivating.

Does the lost chapter of the stars episode come on the crest of the stars discs? because I have never heard of that before, and its only one episode. Thanks |

As Boogiepop, Crest was created from a series of award-winning novels by Hiroyuki Morioka. He is a brilliant writer that evolves the story around his characters (much like the equally brilliant Yoshitoshi ABe).
I adore this saga. Its beautiful story-telling. |

I would have to disagree with the majority here. I have watched Crest of the Stars and to be honest didn't think it was all that great. It was average it my opinion. I didn't find the story very captivating at all. In actual fact I wasn't very impressed with the writing. I have no problem with a series which lacks action but Crest of the Stars wasn't only without action but lacked very few exciting or even interesting moments in its entirety. I found most of the story to be very mundane. The characters didn’t particularly interest me either, admittedly there is some fairly good character development and the relationship between the two main characters develops nicely but the characters themselves just didn't interest me. There were a few decent episodes but too much of it consisted of the two main characters prattling on about things which just weren’t of interest. The strongest point of Crest of the Stars was the universe itself. It is realistic and the viewer is presented with a well crafted and intricate universe. There are a lot of nice little details which add to the overall feel of the universe. I liked the whole set up with the ABH and the other federation (forgot the name) as well. I have no doubt that some interesting stories could be written based on that universe but the one told in Crest of the Stars just doesn't cut it in my opinion. It has been a couple of years since I watched it and will give it another try sometime to see if I feel differently about it but I can't see that happening.

If you're going to be lazy and not make an effort to use something you already know how to use (i.e. encyclopedia), then I must ask you to not post questions like this anymore on our forum.
Questions are fine, but attributing "laziness" as the reason why you don't know the answer is not okay. |
