I saw that on Burn-Up Excess DVD. I found that a tad disturbing and amusing at the same time.

It's also on the Plastic Little DVDs as well from what I hear. It does seem a bit juvenile, but oddly it's getting some good reactions from some fans. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

Doesn't do much to forward the validity of anime as a serious cinematic art form....but then again neither does Plastic Little or Burn Up, I guess.

Seeing that big sticker on the front of the DVD that says "Jiggle Counter Feature" or whatever makes you look like a pervert when you buy it... But then again, maybe you are.

All anime fans are perverts, especially the girls! Everybody knows they just watch Anime to see underaged Bi-shounen in tight leather pants that don't even go up to their hips.

That is so true. I never would have believed that if I didn't go to Otakon and seen it for myself. I think we'll see an Otaqueen before we ever see an Otaking in our lifetime.

Isn't adding a 'jiggle counter' to shows like Burn Up adding insult to injury? The people who buy those shows lose enough dignity at the store simply by taking it to the counter... so ADV heightens the embarassment by slapping a big sticker on the front loudly proclaiming that now you can sit and count the number of times the hUg3 4n1m3 b00bZ bounce around. It takes an inordinately low amount of taste to buy one of these shows in the first place; I'm not sure it's necessary to wallow in celebration of how low they've sunk.

*L* I rented it a couple weeks ago for *Beep* and giggles. The "jiggle counter" was cool and all, but after 2 epoides, I turned off. It was nice and all, but not as cool as the "Pop-up AD Vid-notes". But atleast ADV is giving me more bang for my 20 bucks.

Good point. Me and my brother got a good laugh at least when we saw the huge sticker. But if you stop and think about it, the people who uaually buy this don't care how perverted/dorky they may look to the salesperson behind the counter.
Like a few weeks ago at best buy, I saw a kid pick up the DOA Extreme Volleyball Swimsuit Calander with no sense of shame. That's his thing and he does not give a ^*$@ what anybody else thinks. Kinda like those guys who dress up in Sailor Scout outfits.
I would like to state for the record that that is just plain disturbing. I don't care how you want to rationalize it, grown bearded aircraft-carrier-sized men dressing in Sailor moon outfits should be a crime. But you know what? That grown bearded aircraft-carrier-sized man dressed in the Sailor moon outfit does not give &%$# what I think. Afterall, he might think I'm an idiot becuase he thinks Skylines are the biggest P.O.S. on the planet (next to any Saturn product, of course).
Everyone has there own hobby and as long as it is not hurting another person, who cares?
One more thing... admit it, sure we may claim to be mentaly scarred when we see a dude dressed in a Sailor Moon outfit, but once we see a hottie in Kasumi cosplay outfit, we forget all about it, don't we?

I'm more concerned about someone who refuses to admit "yeah, I watch it for the jigglies" then someone who does. I mean, honestly. If you're going to watch something like Burn Up W, Labyrinth of Flames, or Steel Angel Kurumi, why hide it. Unless that's all you watch, then there's a WHOLE different discussion to be had.

I saw the first episode of Burn-Up Excess at AXNY while waiting for the Pioneer panel to start. They didn't use the jiggle counter though... Waste of my time? yes. Was there anything better to do though? Well, probably...

Now, I want everyone to say thank you to Gainax Studios for introducing us to the bounce, or jiggle, or whatever you want to call it. In case you did not know, it was first used in the anime Gunbuster, and I, Noriko, was the first to show it off.
