I read the summary of the review and I just knew it was Casey.
If it was so bad, why did you give it a C- overall? C-, to me, is a "not horendous" rating, but your writing held more hate than that. |

Yeah, C- just means slightly below average on a general scale....if this dog is as "excretable" (or execrable ) as it sounds, you'd think it would have gotten a D or an F. |

Same here, which is why I'm not even going to bother reading the rest. |

Wow...I'll admit the explanations got a lil outta hand but come on toilet paper? I've read all three volumes of the manga, liked it alot. Read the book it was based off of, wasn't dissapointed. Good characters, good story, good art.... I didn't really see a whole lot worth complaining about.....

Well, I'm not Casey, but I'd assume that the reason for getting a C- rather than something lower is the positive overhang of the source material, and the "nuanced and intriguing" concepts that form part of the plot; in addition to the fact that the quality of the artwork wasn't really called into question. If the art is up to scratch and the plot devices are interesting, then you can't really help giving it a mark like that even if the actual plot is poorly expressed/adapted. Like Casey said, the whole is less than the sum of its parts (or something like that). |

It's like grade inflation - ask college professors about that! Yeah, C should be the average. If 90% of anything is crap, then a particular reviewer with enough samples should have more C's than B's with a bell curve. And yet, grade inflation happens often enough with reviewers too. Just look at Anime on DVD! |
