Quote: | Oricon Book Ranking has announced on Thursday that the September 4 release of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga volume 51 has sold an estimated 1,029,249 copies in one week. Volume 50 also sold one million copies in its first week in June. In all, Shueisha has printed 140 million copies of One Piece manga volumes so far. Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto volume 43 also sold over 1 million copies after its July 4 release, but it took one month to reach that mark. |
Cos One Piece kicks Naruto's ass! Whoo!
Nice to see D.Gray-man doing well too.
And new Yotsuba? =D

Cool to see Steel Ball Run get on the list.
Too bad I doubt we'll ever see any more JoJo manga brought over after Viz finishes Part 3...

Over one million copies in one week? Wow, that's very impressive. I imagine Oda swimming through his money like Scrooge McDuck.

I'm sure he loves what he does and makes a ton of money, but I could never live with the kind of workload and schedule he has.
Nice to see One Piece still kicking ass though.

Not surprised by the perfomance of One Piece 51. In fact, I just picked it up myself just a few hours ago. I don't think anybody could think of topping some of the accomplishments that One Piece has done so far, for what I know of right now.

Don't worry. It does a complete 180 in the upcoming volumes. I just wish Viz would hurry the F up! I initially thought they would want to get past the comedy part ASAP and give it a bimonthly schedule to do so...but instead we've had to wait forever. The storyline that's going on right now seems awesome, but at the rate we're going we won't get it until 2011!! Hopefully Viz will come to their senses once the Varia arc kicks in and they'll go bimonthly.
As for Steel Ball Run...I hold out some small hope that it would be released here as that one can work well stand alone without the rest of the Jojo series. But with the way Part 3 is doing....

I can't imagine how Reborn is that popular these days. No wonder I've been seeing yaoi dojinshi manga at Book Off in the past couple of months
