I'm new on the forum, and yes, that is the newest production by Akamatsu-sensei. I was wondering if anyone here have read it before and what they think about it.

It's standard Akumatsu fare. In all honesty, I couldn't read it and think... he loves the female human body, but he really needs to work on a plot here. Plenty of pantyshots, almost full fem nudity, and the standard misunderstandings leading to some kind of "relationships" story.
It's a fun romp, with some amusing ideas, but I can't strike out and call it quality just yet. If the story picks up some, then it will be easier to pass judgement. (mind you, only the first manga is available in the U.S. from Del Ray.) If you are a fan of his other works, you can be assured you will probably like Negima. Just don't put too many expectations on it being very deep.

Uh huh. Being able to read Japanese and living in Hong Kong I already got myself all 5 to date. I'll have to agree with you there. The first book isn't much and it's not much better in two. I won't be spoiling anything here, but I feel that it gets better from the 3rd book. And yes, I'm a Akamatsu fan >_<

Well, since I didn't see you stating your location, I didn't want to assume either. Perhaps there is something more to look forward to then regarding the manga. In all honesty, it's not going to be the big one on my list to rush out and buy, but I'll still probably check out more of it.

I read all 5 volumes to date and... it's entertaining. I like it far more than Love Hina and although the cast is ridiculously huge, a few characters manage to stand out nicely (Eva-chan~).
Not anything I'd jump and shout for but hey, it's fun. And Asuna's surprisingly likable, IMO (starts off as a bit of a Naru clone in the beginnig but by volume 4... she's a sweetie).

So you're trying to say Narusegawa's not a sweetie? Akamatsu-sensei has yet to interest me with Negima beyond levels of Love Hina. Maybe it's just because I an insane LH fanatic.
