Really, my first though was "it can't be worse than Ragnarok, can it?"

Even if you have financial problems you need to keep on producing because otherwise you won't earn money.

Judging from the image in the news article it might look refreshingly different from other anime but I don't expect anything good from a RPG adaption.

Dungeon & Fighter sounds like a bootleg version of Dungeons and Dragons! Laughing

You kind of threw out the important part of that quote "This show doesn't look promising..."

It's not that anyone doesn't know that Gonzo needs to produce to make money, but if they produce things people don't like before even watching one episode, they probably aren't helping themselves too much.

That said, we know nothing about the show and I hope that it's good. Maybe the opening viewership will let everyone know so it gets decent sales.

If it's not good, then Gonzo will have done nothing to help itself.

It better be funny. Like episode 1 of Druaga funny.

If they actually attempt a serious story in an MMORPG setting, it will be god awful.

So Gonzo is okay now or are they taking another risk financially?

More than financially. You could say they're putting their integrity at stake, too.

Now that I think about it, this might not be so risky. Since this isn't based on the usual manga or novels they're probably being paid pretty well by NHN to get this project moving. This would also likely mean that if it is a dud the loss wouldn't totally be on Gonzo. It does have a good staff so maybe it does have a chance?

The staff members don't have many references here on ANN so it is not sure whether they can produce a good quality. It could be that Gonzo thinks they're talented but it could also mean that Gonzo didn't care much about the project to start with so they let some beginners handle it.

Gonzo already made some strange decisions regarding Bokurano where they hired a director who didn't like the story he was going to adapt. They seem to love doing risky stuff even if they shouldn't.

Yeah, that name does sound like a total ripoff of Dungeons and Dragons. I can't wait to see what they will say in the reviews about the show.
