Hi to everybody, this is my first post...
Well I take this subject had been talked over and over, but I would like to hear your impressions about this manga, Eva Re-take is a great manga from my point of view, it narrates another side of the story and as far as I can see, is more morbid and gloomy, the feelings of the characters are evidently more exploited. For some this manga is a blasphemy for other just another way of telling the story, so I would like to hear some impressions and debate about this... Cheers!!! |

You do know that this is an unofficial version right? Not good or bad, but just saying. Plus I think it's pornographic. Think I saw copies that had the naughty bits taken out. Forget which one I downloaded. (Not that I download manga. Yeah.) A friend was telling me about it being an interesting.. well.. re-take.

Well, I didn't like the characters much in the anime, but Re-Take made pretty much everyone nicer, so I prefer it to the actual series. It still has a decent mind-screw quality to it as well (although confusion regarding the numbering and order caused me to read one of the later chapters first and thus spoiled a bit of the story).
Studio Kimigabuchi doujins are weird. |

Well I really think it's a good manga as pornographic it may be, it's still pretty good the way the character's feeling and exploited is just great and I know it's no official manga, but the storyline is pretty neat and the events are well done plus the drawings are neatly finished, the part I liked the most is the ending, quite emotional and well an ending we all can understand, I take this manga as a "what if"...
BTW.. Excuse my poor english it's not my mother language lol |

There's an English translation of Re-Take. I love it a lot!
 Being a big Asuka fan, I loved the part where spoiler[the Asuka in the new reality falls in love with Shinji, and, as the real Asuka watches, she slowly starts to forgive Shinji.] That last shot in the chapter before the epilogue where spoiler[Shinji and Asuka are holding hands on the beach from the last seen in End of Evangelion] !!!]

As a rei fan I don't like that very much. I keep hearing about this but the fact is that I have been disappointed by every evangelion manga I have ever read (besides the original.) Plus I tend to be weary about any eva dojin that would be considered hentai because it tends to be an excuse to well...create an eva where shinji sleeps with every girl in the series and kaoru. |

Just started reading this. The art is very nice and for the most part accurate. The story is an interesting spin, though I wouldn't recommend reading chapter 0 first because it's like a very confusing foreshadowing/epilogue/parallel.

I think I've seen someone comment that the order it's supposed to go in is 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 0 -> 4 -> After Zanarkand Princess, while Re-Take does have explicit sex, it's only a small portion of the entire story. The chapters are about 100 pages each, and maybe 5-10 pages in any given chapter are pornographic. The hentai is not used as an excuse to have Shinji sleep around. If anything, it's used to advance the plot (what an incredible concept, eh?). |

I finished it just now, and wow. It was good. Really good. The plot was believable and more than satisfactory, with plenty of twists. Angelic Days doesn't hold a candle to this.

I think the same way, the hentai parts in the manga is just to add intensity and realism to the plot, they are totally justified, it's not even to arouse you, is just part of the plot and an important part of the development of the story, I really liked the manga I think it's one hell of a good version, and an interesting, sick twist of the story

Yeah, usually hentai is just there just to show Shinji and Asuka having intense sex(or Rei...or Misato...or Kaworu...or even Eva 01! O_0) But at least it served a purpose here.

I think that angelic days was like blasphemy eva style. I really didn't like it. retake on the other hand doesn't make me want to call gainax and ask who approved this mess. |

Is it labeled as Retake? |
