Kind of surprised no one mentioned the allusion to Greek mythology in the trivia section.

Heroic Age was alright. I just found it very repetitive.

Isn't this more of Bandai's type of thing? FUNimation is grabbing a bunch of anime this year. Or what I mean to say is I hope that this year doesn't come back and bite them in the foot later. Anyway, I am glad for fans of the series that this is getting a local release. Looks interesting, but I have too much on my plate to be going for another NGE/Fafner/Rah clone. Maybe if there is nothing else it is something I will check out, or if it gets awesome reviews and nice previews.
By the way, the streaming link is broken.

Awesome! I loved this show and it was my #1 wish for an R1 license.

It's not. It has plenty of space opera elements, but it's more of a questing plot than anything else. I also find that the series was surprisingly able to support itself under the weight of its own philosophy.
If I have to comapre it to something, it's Battlestar Galactica/Nadesico-ish?

The fact that FUNimation chose to announce the license for this show before AX and not during it probably means that they won't be announcing any new licenses at the actual convention and instead, are planning to run license themed panels instead.

I have to agree that it was more like those show. I would not even classify as Mech even though they turn into differant creatures. They are not even robotic. They are living Creatures. But this is something that I saw either Bandai or ADV getting. But hey it is a great series on that I am look forward too

Man, FUNimation stole one from Bandai, Well then again this is what Bandai gets for stealing from ADV Films..............................
I like this show it's awesome, also not that I have anything against Bandai, I just found this funny, just like FUNimation stole Love Hina from them, and Heroic Age, they even stole
D.Grayman and Claymore from VIZ Media (Should've stole Busou Renkin and Honey and Clover when they had the chance, Salami Studios kinda ruined it), Let's see them steal from Illumitoon !!!

Steal? Unless those companies were actively pursuing licenses that Funimation swiped from under their noses, I don't see what the big deal is.
There's no evidence that Viz ever wanted the Claymore anime or if Bandai was particularly interested in reprinting Love Hina. The real coup I can think of is ADV's loss of Gurren-Lagann (which they had already begun advertising and screening).
