Hello i’m a young otaku named Achilles and i'm 22 years old. Yes, i'm from Greece. Anyway, I’d like to ask you about two old anime movies that i had watch while i was 8-10 years old but i can't recall the titles, and couldn't find any info at all. I 've searched everywhere and i mean it! The first is about a guy who lives in a valley with a huge tree. Somehow he gets involved in a conspiracy with the two countries surrounding his. A country called "Shadowland" (i think) and one with huge windmills and water tanks. What follows is a flood, a battle in a haunted forest, and in the end it seems no one has won, all the hero's relatives die, and become something like pink spiritual birds, that fly toward a huge spaceship. Please do you have any info about the title????!!!!! The other film is a drama that takes place in the present time, and has nothing to do with supernatural stuff. If i'm right, a scientist from U.S. builds a laser weapon satellite, hires a young astronaut from Japan, who falls in love with the old dude's daughter. She plays a remarkable song at piano. Anyway if i remember correctly, the old man dies, and in the end the two astronauts fly to space to fix an error in the satellite system. Title please? Those titles probably 've been released in the early 80's.
That was all. Keep on the great work at the anime section, and thank you.

P.S.: you will really bring me tears of nostalgia and joy if you help me find out the titles. And these tears are welcomed

The first one sounds like Windaria. (I haven't seen it in a few years though.) The second one, I'm clueless on.

Same here, that first one describes Windaria to a T, but I'm lost on that second one.

Windaria was a wonderful movie. It's pretty famous, so I don't know why you had problems finding information about that. As for the second one...Try finding other well known movies that came around the same time as Windaria came out. That might be helpful.
