Exactly. Signature series are basically re-releases of popular Pioneer (now Geneon) titles. ADV Films seems to have jumped on board the re-releasing train since they have their own thing called "Anime Essentials". I, for one, am looking forward to the "Anime Essentials" release of Plastic Little.

Yeah. I know, I know.....but..it's pretty.

Actually, the Geneon Signature series is cheaper and its series that haven't been released regularly for a while now. For instance, the Tenchi Muyo OAV's last were available as a collectors box set that was $100+. The Signature series individual DVD's are $19.99. This is making it a lot easier to replace my worn out VHS copies of the OAV's.

And trust me, after 80 odd viewings, VHS copies do get pretty worn.

Usually a signature series comes out after the original dvd already came out. They just make it cheaper.
