Has anyone seen Bleach Rock Musical? What do you think about it? Like it? Hate it? What do you think about actors and music/songs?
I just luv it!!  I think they've done a good job and the whole idea of creating live musical is amasing! Honestly, I wish I was living in Japan so I can go and see it live on stage!!
Anyway share your opinion!!

I've always been a big fan of these live action Japanese musicals. Even so much so that I bought all the Sailormoon musical DVDs. The lighting effects, the music, the acting, all of it. It's wonderful even if don't know what they're saying, assuming you like humor.

Maaan, I so wish some company would release Rock Musical BLEACH on DVD in North America. It'd be sooo great to be able to buy an official release of it.
You know, it really is good. Very different from what I might have expected, but it's seriously cool. It's very fun to watch (and that's not only the musical itself but also the backstage stuff, haha). za daaku ofu za buriidingu muun~! |

I have loved live-action musicals ever since I first saw the stage adaptation of The Prince of Tennis because they're so much fun, and I am really interested in seeing the Bleach Rock Musical and I don't even read or watch the series on a regular basis! But, then again, I love musicals in general so musicals based on manga titles are a win-win for me. Thanks for reminding me that I need to get around to watching this one, as well as the Air Gear and Sailor Moon live-action musicals (I also got word that there's going to be a Saiyuki musical in September).
I wish more companies would look into releasing these musicals in the West, too, but I have a hard time seeing that happening even with popular series like Bleach, unfortunately. I also have to wonder how they would bring it over in addition to whether or not it's popular enough in the fanbase to bring it over at all. Would it be dubbed or would it just be the original Japanese track with subtitles? Of course, most anime are offered both tracks but it would be rather interesting to see these musicals translated and voiced over. |

I saw some of it on youtube and loved it. I wish Viz wouls release it in the U.S. I wanna see the whole thing. I thought the acting and singing was good, and the people playing the characters looked like real-life versions of the Bleach characters. They picked the right cast.

i've seen it..and hey it's pretty good, I do watch live actions but only a few musicals and man, the actors/actresses involved in the Bleach musical seemed to have really worked hard on it

I heard some of it, and I won't lie, it sounded pretty horrible, and looked a bit ridiculous. I guess it would appeal to hardcore Bleach fans though.

I would have to agree that the Bleach musical isn't particularly good, and probably only hardcore fans would attend the musical everytime a new one comes out. The Prince of Tennis musicals and Hunter x Hunter musicals weren't excellent as well. From what I've seen, the actors in musicals ain't singers after all, so the songs are nothing special. It's only the joy of seeing the anime characters come to life I guess.
