Hello,

may I ask who of the ANN editorial staff has translated the text portion of Inoue´s online diary and where exactly he or she has spotted this passage?

The translator is not a part of our editorial staff, it was Mori Yuji.

It comes from his August 2nd entry.

[edit]
Currently the editorial staff is limited to Cookie and myself, with editorial privileges ocasionally granted to other staff members in limited contexts (ie: Dan can editorialize inside the letter from the Encyclopedist, Allan can do so in his column, as can Zac).

crappy ol' BabelFish translates it thusly:

The following day you went to bed, but it previously arranges with Miyazaki at the jib Lee fine arts museum. Because the next work ' magical using howl of jib Lee's demon of the fire ', Miyazaki himself supervises,The fine arts museum the compilation, in other words ' the kitten bus ' the next, shortly to an I ballad,
Say to fall I draw that image board.

So, if you try to make that into a real sentence Wink, you would come up with Miyazaki directing Very Happy

(WOOHOO!)

Well, the babelfish translation brings up supervise, which is somehwta different than direct. But I would trust Yuji's translation over that of Babblefish any day.

Was I the only one to find it kind of... odd for a director of small Digimon short movies to be appointed to a high-profile Ghibli project? Or has Hosoda done some other really knock-your-socks-off excellent films that I just don't know about?

But oh well, discomfort over. RAH RAH RAH, GO MIYAZAKI GO
