Musician Gackt will act in his first Hollywood film. The movie, titled "Bunraku," is an action film written and directed by Guy Moshe, starring Josh Hartnett and Demi Moore.
The film is named after a type of traditional Japanese puppet theater, but the universe it is set in also draws inspiration from origami, video games, and other sources. Hartnett plays a drifter on a quest for revenge. Gackt will play his companion, a samurai named Yoshi. This is Gackt's first movie role since he starred with hyde in the 2003 film "Moon Child." Filming began in Romania during the middle of this month. The movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters in 2009, but no release information for Japan has been announced yet. I don't think I would've even bothered with this film but seeing that Gackt will be making his Hollywood debut. It may be worth seeing it simply based on wanting to see how good of an actor he is. Thanks for the information. Surprised the ANN staff haven't noticed this topi yet. It certainly would be a tantilizing bit of news worthy of the homepage.

more mature than my sister and I, who have been calling it Bun Rack ever since we heard the name.

See, I would have never been interested in this movie. But...Gackt is..my hero, and his hollywood debut..I have to go! I have to!! I have to support him!! And heck..it gives me something to look foward to...^^

Well I heard that they went all the way to japan to get him and he was so touched he couldn't refuse. I can imagine all the action fans in the theaters wondering why groups of overly excited girls are coming in the theater by the boat load and giggling everytime gackt comes on screen.

i never even heard about this movie untill right now but now i have to see it
 LOL now i have to go with a group of girlfriends so we can all be annoying and act all girly when ever gackt comes on screan. I know it will not bother any one in the least, becuase the movie theaters i go to most people yell at the screan any way.

Gackt's presence in this movie would probably be my only reason for going to see it. I would like to know, however, whether the language barrier will impede his acting, or whether it'll be translated?
