Last night, I finally managed to see the episode of Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory which was aired on Cartoon Network last Sunday. (Episode 12, unless I miss my guess.)
I was very impressed with it, as usual... But for the life of me, I can't seem to understand the latest plot twist.
Spoilers ahead.
What kind of conspiracy is Lieutenant Garahau involved in?
The fact that she turned on Delaz and Gato makes makes it seem like she has jumped ship and allied with the Feddies in order to kill the Spacenoid uprising Delaz had envisioned. (And maybe prevent an a full-blown second war?)
However, the fact that the Federation leaders are not cooperating with the Albion crew, coupled with the fact that the space colony is apparently still en route to Earth, makes it seem like she may be trying to achieve a personal objective totally seperate from either Delaz's or the Federation's goals.
Can anyone explain the purpose of the conspiracy? Because I am pretty much totally lost at this point. ~.~

While messing around with the features on DVD volumes 1 & 2 yesterday, I discovered that both discs contain both the English translated/adapted AND original Japanese opening and closing credits. The Japanese text can be viewed on Angle 1, and the English text is on Angle 2.
There is a catch, though. For some strange reason, I cannot seem to switch between angles the way I usually do. When I press the Angle button, all I get is the "This button does not work on this track" icon.
Switching audio tracks, returning to the menus, and reselecting a scene is the only way I have found to make the angles change.
Has anyone else noticed this peculiarity? Hagakure?
Is this desired operation for the disc, or a flaw in the authoring? If so, is it worthwhile to contact Bandai about the problem, or will that make no difference?

Eh... Sorry but all I can offer is this.
I watch my anime DVDs on my PS2 by the way.
I have noticed that when I go to the credits via the scene selection they are in Japanese, and when I start off from play they are in english.
The again I also realized that there is a second subtitle track that I have absolutely no idea what its functions are.
To be honest I don't know what an angle is, because the whatever they are I'm fairly sure the PS2 doesn't support them.
I could look into it though, maybe e-mail Bandai.
