I think Shinichi Watanabe should make another Cowboy Bebop movie about Spike, Vicious, and Julia's past in the Red Dragons. I think that would make a great movie, does anyone else agree?
Is there anyway this could happen? (This was discussed very briefly in a previous Thread, but only a few posts) [EDIT - There's a lot of spoilers that have gone unspoilerized, so I've modded the topic to match. -C] |

I doubt it would happen but I would love it if they did this. The animation would be upgraded and the storyline would kick butt. They need to make this but I doubt it would ever happen.

sigh. Yes I know it probably won't happen, but still, I hear Directors and Writers scan forums and such. Maybe if they see the demand of a new Cowboy bebop movie... |

Shinichiro Watanabe is quite aware of how well another Bebop movie would go over.

Personally, I think a movie covering Spike's past would be a bit much (I'm more than content with the whole "piece it together yourself" method Watanabe went with). However, I'd be 110% behind another movie a la Knockin' on Heaven's Door. As I think I said before, I believe it'd be great if Cowboy Bebop went the way of its spiritual predecessor, Lupin III, and fans got to enjoy a new movie every few years or so.

I think that the creators of the show wanted to make a point when they killed Spike and I think we oughta respect that. As much as I'd like to see another "Cowboy Bebop" movie, I'd much rather they left this great series alone. Am I alone at feeling this way?
P.S. If you crave more Bebop why not read Bebop manga? |

The movie doesn't have to take place after the series. Knockin' on Heaven's door was between epidoes 22 and 23, this one could be before the whole series. |

Nah, the fact that it doesn't give into the fan boys is what makes this series great. The series would lose all crediability if they started milking every story they could out of it. It's better off just left as is. Not just the story, but the characters as well, without the vail of mystery Spike would be far less interesting.

I don't think they should make a prequel and just hand us the story of Spike, Vicious, & Julia. Half the fun is trying to figure out what happened between them.
Though, one more movie would be nice. |

As others have said previously, I would rather see a whole new story with the Bebop crew than a prequel about Spike's past. The cool thing about Spike was you didn't really learn too much about his past, and it would ruin his mystique if everything was revealed.
Anyway, I say yay to a new Cowboy Bebop movie. |

Watanabe-san has clearly stated that he will not continue Cowboy Bebop and I think he is must certainly right. Why mess with the series seeing as Watanabe is working with a new production team the movie could [and undoubtably] suffer. Just looked what happened with the manga incarnation it was soulless cash cow fluff.
Ler's just leave things as they are and remember that Cowboy Bebop was excellent and that's all there is to it. |

yeah....in his interview (see post above), Watanabe-san said that he thought about doing the movie in prequel form, but he decided against since it's better to leave it up to the public to decide...... |
