Alright before you go start trashing me at every post again like other topics naigaisa did to me before. this is serious I mean I dont really care if anyone dubs it(Although bandai would be a nice company to dub this anime they do a pretty with most animes with the music and some of the content dont go around creating death cover ups but then its at night so who cares) I just hope to god that 4kids doesnt get the anime since there will be too much content that will not be suitable for tv in the morning and will cause outrage. also you have to add that 4kids never released a single uncut anime dvd so it mean farewell to fansubs and hello to forced fed naruto crap, if it had to be dubbed please make it evening dub.

Well, if Naruto was picked up by 4kids then they would probably release an uncut version, even if they have never have done it before. The demand would more than likely be high enough to make it a very profitable and wise decision.

What I want to know is why a thread was made under the possible guise of talking about Naruto being licensed, which it hasn't AFAIK, when apparently all it was made for was further trashing of 4kids. Some people should just learn to let certain topics die, you won't change our minds and we won't change yours, let it drop. This being said, could a mod please lock this.

I don't think Naruto should be brought to America becuz of Censors out here and then they would ruin the anime by trying to dub it... So i think it should stay down there; unless they are going to leave it in Japanese and Subtitles and don't change any of it!

Asage,
Honestly, what's the point? I think you've made it very clear that you don't like 4Kids and that you don't want them to license any title let alone Naruto.
So really, have you added anything to that with this topic? Nope, you haven't, you've just re-iterated the same old point with a new show.
Let me make this clear, everyone here has certain companies that they don't like, but I will not have any one turning ANN's forum into a forum for a crusade against a particular company.
Personally, I don't think its worth worrying about 4Kids until we see what they actually do something with a slightely more mature anime. So far everything that they've licensed has been aimed at fairly young children (under 14). Where as Naruto is aimed at an older demographic. I don't think they'll license it because of this, and if they did, we'd have to wait and see how they'd treat a show that is so obviously different from the ones they had before. If they did butcher Naruto (or any other older demographic show) I'd be the first to bakc you up, but until that time, it's a big if and a total waste of everyone's time.
In other words, don't start any more threads about this. On the other hand, if someone brings up the licensing of a particular show, feel free to add your views to an already existing thread. But please bare in mind that excessive repetition is annoying.

If you think it may need to be necessary to post such a disclaimer before a post, perhaps it means that you shouldn't be making such a post in the first place.

How can you say that?
99% of the anime released in North America is 100% uncensored.
I would be 100% unconcerned should the show be licensed by ADV, Bandai, VIZ or Pioneer. If FUNimation licensed it I would be somewhat concerned, likewise for 4Kids, but in both cases we'd have to wait and see; FUNi has done some excellent releases (Blue Gender), and as I said above, 4Kids has yet to touch a show along those lines. I'd also be concerned about the potential DVD quality issues should Manga license it, but onehopes that they'll be more reliabl ein the future.
And if it isn't licensed, how should North American fans see the show? Most people don't import, and while a large number of people do watch fansubs, it's still the minority and fansubs don't actually give anything back to the creators fo the show... If you like Naruto, you should hope that it gets licensed, North American licensing has extended the life of many good anime already.

Whatsmore, I'm not sure what the sexual orientation of the censors has to do with anything, unless of course you meant something else by the word "gay," but if that is the case perhaps you should have said what you meant instead of using a rather idiotic perversion of the word. Using gay that way is quite lame.

Hmm... Tempest already covered about everything I was going to say, leaving me with just 2 things. 1) Please, please, PLEASE learn how to make proper sentences (i.e., no run-ons) and use the "shift" key. 2) Nagisa isn't "trashing" your posts. He's trying in the nicest way possible to point how your "arguments" hold water like a sieve.

Indeed. I'm sure 4Kids would release anything uncut, provided it had a large enough market. That's why we don't see an uncut YGO release. There is not large enough of a demand to justify such action. I don't see little kids jumping over Naruto like they do over YGO, Pokémon, Beyblades, etc. If any of the aforementioned saw uncut releases, there would be such a small response to it that the company would see they're losing money and quickly stop.
IMO, Naruto will likely see an uncut and edited release. The edit will have to go under the knife a little longer, but it would likely be successful enough to justify such action. Funi may pick it up, based solely on the fact that fans of DBZ would quickly recognize the tournament fighter and extremely long series format. Funi did release uncut/bilingual DVDs of DBZ, so they probably wouldn't botch the job. 4Kids: it would need an uncut release. Manga: wait and see, as per quality. Anyone else: it's all good.
In conclusion, Naruto will probably not receive a fatal wound from anyone who releases it. And Asage, people do not have unlimited patience, especially when you post the same (conceptual) topic *too* many times.

He probably means that syndicator/network "censors" are happy, the proper definition for "gay", and a definition which also shows up on South Park from time to time, as anyone whom remembers the songs the activist kids sing in the "Rainforest Schmainforest" episode will recall.

Just out of curiosity what is the intended demographic of Naruto? It seems most of the main characters are 13-14 years old.

Alright I am not trying to 4kids must die but rather stand back from dubbing anime instead should try american cartoons they did a very good job at it, but in anime not so hot. And also there is no support at all on my campaign on 4kids in fact I am doing it on the behalf of the DBZOA(dragonball Z otaku alliance) they have form an anti 4kids faction to help us explain why we dont like 4kids not that it matters since it would guareentee the same result.
