Be nice to see this in a theater... I wish they would have wider theatrical releases for anime in the US... I miss New York for this, Books Kinokuniya and Chinatown....

Um... this is not a new trailer. It was released on December 9, a few minutes before the announcement at NYAF. It was posted by Bandai on the ASOS Brigade site, you can still see it at their Revver page here.

I think what's new, like halo said, is that it's now downloadable in much better quality. (It also dumps Kadokawa and Bandai's absurdly long 40-second logo animations that Revver has, but then again, it adds a 30-second commercial on first viewing.) |

IGN's the last place for people who'd want to see a chick flick, even if it's animated. Kadokawa should probably cater to the audience which saw Juno.
Yeah, this one should go the MySpace route like Paprika. |

Is there going to be an English dub for this feature? Usually there's some kind of English version trailer.

I saw this subbed at the asian american film festival, does anyone know if Bandai is using a completely new translated script? I might consider seeing it again if it's on a real big screen, not that tiny one that I saw in Berkeley. Can't wait for the dvd

Spirited Away was the last anime film I saw in a theater, and I hope I get a chance to see this in one, too.

I don't think I'd call it a chick flick, but this is one of my favourite films ever, let alone just animated. T'was just amazing.
Shame it's only getting a US release, no love for us Europeans. |

For once I agree with you. I dunno about it being a 'chick flick' but there is certainly a wider audience for this than what Bandai has so-far pitched this at. This is a great movie that might be a small 'break through' title that might get some more interest generated in anime in general, provided they do things right. First, hurry guys. It's been fansubbed and also released in two Asian countries on English subbed DVDs. I doubt that it's gotten as much attention as Earthsea yet, but if they want to maximize it's exposure in America then I guess they would want to avoid many more people going those routes. Secondly, this needs a great dub not just a 'good' one and certainly not some Odex crap. And please, let's not just do one of those Crispin Freeman+Wendee Lee-and-whatever-names-are-most popular-at-the-time-regardless-of how-they-fit-the-roles dubs. Actually try to cast them. A good dub might just convince me to retire my Korean limited edition and earn Bandai a few bucks from me... which is saying a lot about the movie since I really hate buying Bandai's discs due to their high rate of defects. *edited to correct some horrific spelling* |

I love that this is finally getting released here. I would love to see it on the big screen. Have they announced a release date?
