I just wanted to know where the best place is to look for newly released anime? There are a couple of new shows that I started watching and I want to buy the DVDs so I can finish watching them. Although I know they are released, I can't seem to find them at the online stores that I have searched through. I already know that most of the ones I am looking for would only be released in subbed versions, but there are a couple that I know have dubbed versions out, yet I still can't find them. Does anyone have good suggestions for some stores?

That's for online stores, however I'd recommend checking out your local anime stores too. Call around and ask for pricing and you should be able to find a store for your liking.

Don't know if you're in the states or not, but another good place is Best Buy. They have a wide selection of anime, and you can buy off their site. try: best buy.com

their prices are normally cheaper than online sites. unless the sites have a sale.

Thanks to both of you. I do actually try best buy pretty often, but they only have the newer mainstream dubbed anime. At least that is all I could find. When I looked for DVDs like Beet the Vandel buster, I couldn't even find volume 1 at best buy. I am in the states, but I want somewhere that would sell the newest subbed anime as well. Thanks again to both of you for your advice, I will try out both suggestions.

You might try http://www.animea.net/reviews to review some titles. I just found this site and am still exploring so maybe someone else who knows more can tell you more about it.

Wow you are watching Beet.... You have my condolences. I think it won an award for worst review of 2007

But anyways shows like that are NOT gonna sell alot so bestbuy tends to not carry many in stock. Its on their website so you can always check instore availability.

That plus theres only 1 dvd out for it atm and i wouldnt be surprised to see the show dropped/cancelled.

Beet, along will all the other Illumitoon releases, was cancelled/put out of print- you probably won't be able to find it in stores now.

You might try secondhand channels like Ebay or Amazon for the volumes that were released (which is only 2 or 3, I think), but be wary of bootlegs.

Most of the so-called "dubbed" DVDs at Best Buy do have the subbed version as well, you know. However, if you're looking for the newest subbed anime, as in stuff that just aired on Japanese TV and hasn't been dubbed yet...unless you're getting really expensive Japanese imports (which generally don't have subtitles), any subbed DVDs of ultra-new series are likely to be illegal bootleg DVDs. (With the exceptions of some sub-only DVDs being released by Rightstuf and Media-Blasters, but those aren't for ultra-new series.)

And like I said in the other thread, the Beet DVD release got cancelled.

What other new series are you looking for?
