Major is definitely (pun intended) one of the major sports anime. This article said that the lead character Goro is headed to Arizona? How rare is it that an anime/manga has anything set in Arizona? I should know because I live in Glendale, Arizona.

The 5th Touch Movie - Touch: Crossroad - Kaze no Yukue was set in the western United States, but I don't remember which state it was.

I'm looking forward to Major season 4.
Mostly to see Goro's skills improve and compete with much tougher guys, but also to see just how in the world Major can deal with so much English. I imagine there will still be more Japanese, but taking place in Arizona and being in the minor leagues, I have to think there will be English, or maybe Engrish.

I definitely think Major is one of the better sports anime/manga as well. It doesnt top Hajime No Ippo but it comes pretty damn close. It is much better then Prince of Tennis or Slam Dunk though.

Why don't ADV or Bandai license this anime for the US?

Now the T.H.E.M. users can complain about the writers' lack of research.

What's interesting is Yaginuma's earlier cameo is unique to the anime version only. In the original manga, Yaginuma doesn't appear until Goro heads to America. The manga version of Goro meets Yaginuma for the first time at the airport; Yaginuma is just another random Japanese baseball player heading to the Arizona. The anime staffers decided to introduce him earlier.
