Can any one tell me the reason why they didn't animate the revenge arc. Is it because the anime got ahead of the manga?

Certainly it wasn't animated for the TV series, but they did incorporate the storyline for Seisouhen, which, IMO, was a crappy way to end the series. I say just stick to the manga version of the Jinchuu arc... it's the best arc, manga or otherwise.

I'm pretty sure that's precisely why. Shame, too, as the Jinchuu Arc is really good (I'd say right on the level of the Kyoto Arc...maybe a little bit better, but the manga scanlations I read had some bad spots in the translation).
As for Seishouhen, while I enjoyed it a great deal, I really can't see myself considering it a canonized part of Kenshin, having finally read the full manga. Just took a few too many liberties with the characters if you ask me, and felt more like a big-budget animated fanfiction (which is a shame, given how masterfully that production crew handled Tsuioku-Hen). I mean, didn't Watsuki even take issue with it? Last edited by Nagisa on Thu Dec 11, 2003 1:19 am; edited 1 time in total |

Mangas are cheap, if you consider 10-15 bucks cheap.

Right now there's about 2 volumes out? I think the japanese has about 28 vols, anyway look it up in the manga section if you want to know how many vols there is.

Twenty-eight volumes total, but only two have been released in the States so far. Jinchuu starts with volume eighteen, so there's still a ways to go until then

It's 8 bucks at Amazon. So that's both for 16.
Edit: I guess Amazon doesn't allow direct linking or something. Last edited by Samurai CDZ on Thu Dec 11, 2003 1:32 am; edited 1 time in total |

Well, I could provide a spoiler-free summary of Jinchuu...but that would require that you've seen the Tsuioku-Hen OVAs, or at least know what happens in them.

I hated the Reflection OVA and after watching it was so upset that I found the manga online at http://www.maigo-chan.org/ruroken.htm. The manga is considerably different and more satisfying. The Jinchuu arc is fantasic, the gang is all there and the fights are excellent. I highly recommend reading it.

I managed to get all 28 volumes of Kenshin and 33 volumes of Flames of Recca before they got licensed so I got lucky their. But the manga is definetly a lot better than the anime and you should get it. 10 dollars is not a lot for manga. Considering I have volumes of Silent Mobius that cost me 15 dollars each.

[EDIT - Dequoted the deleted request -C]
Scanlations aren't allowed on the forum, it's clearly outlined in the rules you should have read. Emerje |

Well, it's not my place to say yes or no, but you really shouldn't be asking in the first place. Especialy with the manga being out in the US now. Just wait for the arc to come out in print and read those. Emerje |

Perhaps an e-mail would be more acceptable? PM's are still through ANN so I can see your point.

ANN is not a place to meet up and swap bootlegs. If you need to steal, do it somewhere where we can't see or hear you doing it, and don't do it anywhere near this site. End of discussion.
