Hey guys, how do you get the mean of all your shows into a 9.1 or a 7.3 form leading to your top lists?

At animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/ratings-anime.php the bottom of each category has a description of how a particular mean is calculated.

Is that what you are looking for?

No. I have looked there but what I do not understand is how you take all of the ratings, get the mean and then get a score out of 10, like 7.8 or 8.6 out of ten.

Not all votes are "equal". The purpose is to diminish the weight of spammers who purposely enter "worst ever" for an anime, just to get their favourite a higher place in the ranking.

A more detailed explanation can be read here and here.
