Has anybody got input, experience, or even rumors dealing with www.animelane.com ? I found it while searching for an anime rental company and have not seen it on any forums.

According to their home page which has a similar format to www.rentanime.com they have been around 2005-2006.

I have been renting from animelane for many months and have had no problems with them. They have a great feature called self return. When you return your dvds in the mail you login to animelane and click self return. They send you the next selections in your queue without waiting for the dvds to be returned to them.
They have a good selection of anime. If you like asian films, they have a good library.

I think it depends on where you are living now. Customers living near to the West side of the country will have a faster service while customer living in the East part of the country will have a slower service. But for me my own experience I can tell you that I gave them two shoots. Both of them were dissapointing for me, customer service was OK, but it is slow in comparison to the competition they have. but shipping was slow, slow, slow. Sometimes I mark a movie self-return but they do not ship the next disc for two or three days. I usually receive the movies in three to four days but every time it took over a week to reach their shipping center (?????) If for some reason a movie take long time or it is lost they will not ship the next discs until you go to the postal office and fill a form that you have sign and stamp by the supervisor and then you have mail that form to animelane. com, well you guys know that it takes time to do that. It didn't happen to me but i know it happen to other users that posted comments in other forums. If you are looking for anime or Asian tv series well you have limited choices and I said try it, just don't say nobody tell you what you have in front. But if you want rent Asian movies or series you have better and faster options like E Hit. com, Cinflix, Tiger Cinema. In my case and for the experience I had with these three rent companies they offer better customer service and faster shipping and most important real advance return option

It is your call now Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

i've been with them for almost a year now, and so far has had no problem with their self return, which is always sent on the same day or the next business day depending on what time of the day i mark self return. once or twice mailing takes longer than usual, but in those cases i checked the postmark and they did mail it when they said they did, so i guess postal service messed those up. it's true that they didn't let new customers use self return on the first shipment but that's posted on their policy so i knew that ahead of time. though i live in west coast so that probably helps with the shipping time. so far i had 1 lost envelope, but they just sent me a link to online reporting with the postal service and i didn't have to go to the post office at all. selection wise, with the combination of genres they have i think they have the most extensive choices.
