Actually that hot springs OVA episode has indeed been licensed, and Geneon does plan on releasing it with an artbox to hold the entire 1st season.

Hmmm, I must have missed that announcement. Nothing about that posted in the Encyclopedia entry for the OVA, either.

Geneon announced it four weeks ago at Anime Expo. At Otakon at the weekend, they announced a December release for it.
Movie was in Japanese cinemas in April. DVD Release in Japan is set for September. The official Shakugan no Shana Website, Shakugan.com, announced the second TV season around the time the movie premiered, IIRC |

According to the record, I added the "licensed by" information on June 30th, right after Geneon made this announcement. If you were talking about the reverse "in the news" link then please check this thread for explanations. |

The season 2 announcement was an easter egg on the movie promo DVD. |

Perhaps someone could fix the blurb in the top paragraph where it says:
generate an endless *font* of power of existence. to say generate an endless fountain of power of existence. which is what I presume was meant. |

No, I said what I meant there. "Font" has other definitions beside in the typesetting sense. |

I found that the Shana Tan extras were a bit much to watch in one sitting. I would have preferred to have seen these two extras on two different DVDs. I remember thinking the same thing with Geneon's Daphne bonus episodes especially since one of them had the first ED, and would have been nice as a mid series bonus. Geneon's Heat Guy J also has a ton of extras which I also felt should have been spaced out over volumes. I don't understand why Geneon thinks it's better to sit through a ton of extras after the final volume, instead of spacing them out over 6-7 volumes.

I agree. However, it was a matter of acquisition. Basically, Geneon wasn't allowed to release the Shana-tan segments on any of the earlier volumes. (Geneon was barely lucky enough to even release these two segments.) - Kasey |

Wow, thanks for the update. Welcome to the forums. Do you have any official inside contact? These explanations really clarify things for us. I love the explanations of the Haruhi episode order which really made people applaud Bandai Entertainment instead of insult them. It just seems to be a trend in Geneon in general to pile all of the extras on the last volume. After giving the DVD day to ponder I will have to say that I really enjoyed both the last DVD as well as the series in general. |

*secretly working for Geneon* Thank you for the welcome. I would post more times, but there was a time that I had lost my password. Plus, I like to post as a fan, rather than a representative since I sometimes question my authority to answer, Now I'm off to spend an hour taking down titans in BF2142. - Kasey |
