A lot of fans don't like that style of animation anymore. Laughing

I've got to ask, I've only been watching anime for about a decade and while I have watched anime from the 80's and 90's, 2000's and current anime, was this show really all that popular or at least well received when AnimEigo initially licensed it years and years ago?

Don't get me wrong, I like older anime, some of the best series were created back then. But inevitably, some series aren't as strong as others and some series do have a tendency to look good for their time, but do not age so well.

I've never even heard of Battle Royal High School, but have watched the series AnimEigo had let expire.

But times have changed in a ten years, High Definition and Blu-Ray did not exist back then, so the overall appearance of anime has changed drastically. Some for the better and some is questionable.

Yet another bulb expires on AnimEigo's tree. Going to need a name change pretty soon if this continues. Maybe something like "Adiosanimeigo". Wink

I highly doubt it. Despite my original post, this show is garbage. It's one of those OVAs that is awesome because of how terrible it is.

We did a podcast on it a while back which highlighted all of the madness (i.e. the whole ova).

It certainly falls into that category perfectly. I had to see it because AnimEigo was selling off the last of it's LaserDiscs back in the day and I had to pick up this title cheaply not knowing what was in store. I'll say it has OK animation but crappy story.
