Never watched "SF Saiyuki Starzinger", but I guess this qualifies as fun news for Leiji Matsumoto anime fans in the U.S., even in a time when a renaissance period for Leiji Matsumoto anime is nearing its start. Since "SF Saiyuki Starziner" does not yet have an official Region 1 DVD release, this U.S. flick may well serve as a gateway to watching "Starzinger" for modern day U.S.-based audiences who have never watched the now obsure classic and are now deprived of being able to official access it.

Well, considering the shows on Force Five included Jeeg, Getter Robo G, UFO Robo Grendizer, and Gaiking, I guess Starzinger was the least expensive one to make a pilot out of.

Actually, it was not Jeeg, but rather Matsumoto's own Super Robot series Danguard Ace.

That would be pretty cool, I have never seen this old classic either.
Oh man I still remember that gorgeous Gaiking CG teaser trailer...I'd love to see a full thing of that still.

Hm, I don't know...it might turn out ok. I hope so.
I remember watching Starzinger as a kid. Liked it very much.
